Utility Warehouse (Telecom Plus) Discussion

It's very simple. For me, UW provides the best deal on the market. Siimple as. It will of course not be the best for others, it all depends on their circumstances. But that could also be said of every Big 6 energy supplier, of course. Look at it this way, because I take a supposed 'hit' on UWs energy prices, I get up to 24 mb unlimited broadband, phone line rental, ALL calls 24/7 (there will be over 300 of them this month, well over half of them in the daytime/evening) for £24.99 per month. We will pay NO EXTRA for calls. I would imagine even UWs harshest critic would be hard pressed to claim this isn't a great deal.
Now we come to UWs energy prices. Of course they aint going to compete with this weeks' best online deal from one of the Big 6. But because my shopping pattern suits the UW cashback card I will never pay UWs 'bare' prices, my prices will always be way lower. So, I get 15000 gas, 4800 electric for a net £600. Cheapest online deal for me is £902 but, like with UW, there are conditions attached to this to get it at that price. So, by doing what i'm doing my gas and electric is £300 a year cheaper than the very cheapest online price. Of course, if I had joined in the last week or so the price for gas and electric would be as low as £500 for the year.
In the absence of anyone actually coming up with a credible alternative to the UW cashback card (it always goes mightily quiet when this request is made), then what am I supposed to do? Pay more with another compnay because the detractors can't accept my decision?Call me Carmine....

Which is exactly what UW apologists deny, although these facts are proved again and again. Though 20% is a conservative estimate, you would pay 23% more in my area using Ofgems standard user criteria.
I've said once or twice that it would be prudent to take only broadband and phone with UW, which you could have for free if you spent enough on the UW discount card. You could even make a profit. Its nice to see Which magazine has taken on board my thoughts.:p
I don't deny this, but why is 20% a conservative estimate - based on what? You saying so?
Which? say that you can expect to pay around 20% more than the cheapest tariffs available. I sincerely take your point, but what you continually fail to acknowledge is that many people are not currently on the cheapest tariffs available! This means that the UW proposal is a better deal for them than they currently have. Better, not necessarily best, but as Carmine states it certainly can be. It is not in the remit of a UW ID to point customers to the 'best' deals, but simply to ensure that what UW can offer the customer is better than what they currently receive.
You also fail to acknowledge that 'misleading' a customer into joining is totally pointless. You effectively don't get paid if they cancel their services within the first 90 days, so there is no use in trying to flannel anyone. Just make sure we can give them a better deal than what they currently have based on their needs and wants...you would be surprised how many people out there like what UW can offer compared to their current experience. But of course, you've never actually sat in front of someone and found out for yourself have you?Utility Warehouse Distributor/Professional Network Marketer0 -

I have to use the pre payment card to bring my spend below the quoted cheapest and am happy to do so. No interest in telling us why you haven't succumbed to the risky card yet?

Just like andy I am just popping by now and again. Have no interest in discussing anything here now.
Any more thoughts about how your Internet phone works without using VOIP? - "Like a normal phone"
You asked "do you understand now?" . Well I didn't understand your 'special UW explanation' - so could you run it by me again please.0 -

It also always goes 'mightlily quiet' when you are asked to explain your repeated false statements about UW 'blowing BT out of the water' on standalone charges - or about BG click charges(your people still working on that?)
You might have a little more credibility if you could explain your claims. Your UW ID friends still haven't been able to drag you out of the mire I notice.0 -

Coming from someone who had to be dragged kicking and screaming to admit to basically lying through his back teeth regarding French & Saunders advertising UW on TV 'most nights of the week' this post is about par for the course. The tariff rate is still being looked at (it's a lot harder to research than French & Saunders being on TV advertising UW or not, after all and basically I have come to the realisation that EVERY claim you make should be investigated thoroughly). And UW call charges ARE cheaper than BTs - I gave you an example, which you asked for but apparently that wasn't good enough. Oh well. Let's also not forget your pathetic attempt to discredit UWs leccy prices by comparing your DUAL FUEL leccy price (that you have been paying for over 4 years) with UWs standalone leccy price (including the one-off annual club fee) that you STILL haven't apologised for. Maybe because when the 'truth' outed it was clear the figures weren't quite so amazing, eh? In fact, it transpired you'd been overpaying on your LUA.
Perhaps you could draw on your extensive knowledge of cashback cards to get me a better deal? No? Yet another money saving technique you know zilch about. Never mind.Call me Carmine....
