You keep saying this time and time again, so why don't you "show us your actual usage, current supplier and tariff in order for us to see if you are saving money as you say" and also show how much you need to spend on the UW cashback card to counteract the higher UW prices?
You've had mine (oohh, several times) but don't seem to have come up with a viable alternative. Is there a problem? Just so we can ascertain your suitability for this money saving consultancy role, any chance of posting yours up?Call me Carmine....

These are the issues I have.
1) None of the UW detractors (it appears) have ever sat in front of an actual potential customer(s) and asked what they want from their suppliers, yet you feel you can 'tar everyone with the same brush' as far as what their needs are. I've said it before - I've got happy, long-term customers who signed up on the basis of one bill, or the fact that they can pick up the phone and call me with questions. You simply cannot blanket everyone like you do.
2) You've never been customers! So you don't know what it's like!! Yet you feel qualified to tell others what they should and should not do - bizarre and perhaps arrogant, in light of the point I make above.
3) Despite lots of positive 3rd party credibility, your only response is to imply that the results are flawed because they don't fit with the points you try to make.
Hope this makes sense!
Avenger,
Not sure it does make sense!
A couple of points.
I wonder where you get the figure of 300,000 customers from? Would that be 300,000 from the UK population, or are you suggesting that the 300,000 UW customers all "have the same requirements"?
The whole purpose of this website, and particularly the forum, is for people to give and receive advice.
Nobody is “telling others what they should or shouldn’t do”.
There are scores of thousands of posts stating various companies - in all manner of fields(utilities, insurance, banking etc etc)- are rubbish/great/cheap/expensive. The better posts substantiate the reasons for their post.
People are simply offering advice – not telling people what to do.
In the case of UW, myself and others are offering advice that UW have just about the highest gas and electricity prices in UK; and offering indisputable evidence to support that statement.
People are clearly free to take note of that advice, or reject the advice.
As for the statement “You've never been customers! So you don't know what it's like!!”
If you are serious in that statement, then Martin and all his staff have no business offering any advice on any product/service unless they have personal experience of that product/service. Any research they carry out must be a waste of time.0 -

Plus, you have also missed out one very important T&C of the BT deal. Plus the £4.89/mth it would cost you for inclusive Intl calls, of course.

So run the £37 a month by me again!0 -
So run the £37 a month by me again!
Huh? Read Perelandra's post and try and understand what he/she was suggesting. Then (hopefully!) realise why I made that reply. I can't help you further, I'm afraid, I've already got an elderly father who requires my help. It's exhausting helping one elderly, confused person without doing it on the 'net as well.
As a commited BT customer I hope you've seen their own version of the cashback card. If you spend enough on it you could qualify for totally free phone/BB/calls also. Only problem being you would need to spend rather a lot on it. About £50,000 a year?Spend on your card, save on your BT bill
Each card purchase gives you money off your BT bill, and with a discount of 1p for every £1.50 you spend, the discounts can really mount up.
Total monthly spend on your card Annual savings on your bill
£300.............................................. ..............£24
£500.............................................. ..............£40
£750.............................................. ..............£60
£1000............................................. ..............£80
£60 annual discount for a £9,000 card spend?? £450 discount with the UW card!!Call me Carmine....

But I'm sure Martin (and his staff) have had more experience than just using BT for telelephony and BG for gas and electric over the last 20 years+ :rolleyes:Call me Carmine....

Probably not, that was exactly the point I was making so I'm surprised you used it as an arguement for UW, and I've said several times that my current supplier is the best deal around for me at the moment.Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -

This is yet another example of your discredited ‘bait and switch’. i.e make a completely unfounded statement, with absolutely no basis of fact, and repeat and repeat that misinformation, in the hope that it will accepted as fact
To give you a recent example – one of many.
You may recall that you posted repeatedly that I, and a million others, were mugs to have taken the BG fixed to April 2010 tariff. Your flawed logic - again with no basis of fact - was that after we went on that tariff, BG introduced their Click tariff which was much cheaper and we had been conned by BG into going onto a tariff with an exit penalty which had been a superseded by a cheaper tariff.
You couldn’t be bothered to verify if your statement was correct – it was just repeatedly used as your standard of ‘proof’ that I in particular was a mug.
It had to be spelt out to you in great detail(with proof) that once again you were completely and utterly wrong – wrong in every way. Now of course you don’t consider that false statement, continually repeated, to be a lie – your twisted definition of a lie is a quickly corrected mistake about where French and Saunders advertise.;)
Now with absolutely no justification whatsoever, is the continually repeated statement(presumably with your logic, you don’t consider it an untruth or a lie) that I have only used BG and BT for the last 20 years.
Your tactic is to make a completely incorrect statement, and use that untruth in your arguments.
I have worked in London for many years, and own other property, I have had several accounts with other utility companies. Also with some interests and property abroad have, and still do, use other telephone companies for my frequent overseas calls.
However much you deride BG as a company the fact remains that on my current BG tariff I pay £812 less than I would with UW.
Your modus operandi on this and other threads is simply a disgrace - insults and attempted ridicule based on unsupported ‘facts’.
Your input is totally discredited and much as the more impressionable UW IDs on this thread think your contributions enhance UW’s reputation, to any thinking individual they do it untold damage.

Run those Click 1 Tier 1 Tariffs and Tier 2 rates in the year (2006) it was introduced again, will you? Thanks.
I love how mine are lies and yours simply 'mistakes'...LOL.Seriously, if it was me I would be happier to accept I lied about French & Saunders because the alternative 'excuse' is even more embarrassing. It was late at night...Call me Carmine....
