This casual reader is bored by the whole tit for tat name calling and insults, the same old accusations are bounced around by the same posters to leave this casual viewer (and many others) no doubt bored by the whole thing.
I agree with your sentiment - however, check out the thread viewing figures  May I remind you that the daily paper with the biggest 'readership' is The Sun and the biggest Sunday 'readership' belongs to The News Of The World. I would hope you can see where I'm going with this.Call me Carmine....

I agree with you. Its just whenever I wish to discuss factual energy consumption costs which show how uncompetitive UW are, I find the thread goes off on a tangent, possibly to avoid the painful truth.0 -
No difference from UW then.:D
I have to agree with you there these days. Personally, I think there is a difference in reasoning. UW is still a relatively small business. I has had some problems with bad payers which probably affect them more than say BT or BG. Maintaining proper finances (they have no debt unlike the other big companies) is paramount so on balance I can understand them putting in conditions. It protects the company, the network and ultimately the customer.
As for BT & BG I think it's more to do with protecting the company and its shareholders with employee and customers coming a poor 2nd and third.
Just my thoughts.

Get away, i never knew that.:D
Moving on do UW have a 12 month contract for their phone line rental or not. Any distributor know.
There is no contract for their phone and line rental. There is a contract if a new line is installed but those who only switch from say BT to UW there is no contract.

Are their any conditions attached to getting the £100 credit after 1 year. Eg Minimum spend etc.
Hi if you pm me I'll send the info I have. There are a couple of conditions but nothing strenuous.

Don't PM them, just tell us all. Nothing to hide have you?
No.
Customer must take both energy services and at least on other major telephony or broadband service.
Use at least £350 of gas over the year.
Pay by DD and keep their account in good order.
Give 3 sets of energy meter readings during the first year to ensure they are being billed accurately. Firstly when energy services are transferred to UW, secondly after they have been 'live' for 3 months, and finally after both energy services have een live for 12 months.Utility Warehouse Distributor/Professional Network Marketer0 -

Keggs is a rep for uw (but fails to declare it).
If it can't be posted on the forum because it breaks the nbo-advertising rules, then businesses are not allowed to use the MSE pm system like this for advertising, or contacting members to pass on company literature.
And members approached by reps to pass on their details via the pm system are advised against it.MSE_Martin wrote:Please refrain from requesting the exchange of personal details either on the forum, via PM or email0 -
No, there isn't a 12 month minimum contract.
The total cost of a 12 month contract would be 12 x £9.90 = £118.80. The cancellation fee inside the first 12 months is stated as £50, therefore I wouldn't be paying up a minimum contract, I would be paying a disconnection fee as stated in my Terms and Conditions.
This is incorrect, and surprising that none of the reps can be bothered to correct it.
If you have a new line installed it is subject to a minimum 12 month contract. There is no £50 cancellation fee involved when just getting a line installed.
If you want out before the 12 months are up you just have to pay up the line rental to the end of the minimum period.
The £50 cancellation fee referred to is for imposed for cancelling the internet service during the first 12 months.0
