IMO there is little point in discussing the merits/demerits of UW's customer service as any opinions on that subject are subjective. Even if UW were to provide superb service, there will always be dissatisfied customers.
However it is easy to be totally objective about UW's very high gas and electricity prices, as they are there for everyone to see on their own website.
Again the detail of the TVG is there for everyone to see on UW's website.
The fine print and exclusions make it absolutely worthless.
There surely cannot be any UW salesman contributing to this thread who is not aware of the indisputable facts detailed above.0 -
You missed that bit out when reporting back to your mates who urged you to take your negativity off the forum and put all your concerns to HO.
What you said was that you had contacted HO, but got the reply you "expected which was a stock answer".
Shame your mates (who are so concerned about you voicing your anti uw concerns in public) have to read here that in fact the reply actually "allayed" all your worries.
Or is that just for our benefit?
You think what you like Quentin. You usually do but as normal come up with the wrong conclusion. Nowt else to be said about private discussions I have. I don't discuss what other people say to me on a private forum which you had no reason to avail yourself of (you can't now) other than to misuse for your own egocentric purposes. The discussion was quite lengthy as a matter of fact. Many people including me made some suggestions to help the ID. That's what we do. We help each other. But as you eloquently pointed out Quentin didn't publish the various discussions and points raised. Instead he picks out something I mentioned (in a private forum I add) to bolster up some fatuous point he is trying to make. Well known for it is our Quentin.
But I do like a good banter which is the only reason I continue to comment on this forum.
He like all the other members of AUWF know they have lost any credibility in their incessants attacks. But they do like to try it on.
Personally, this thread has run the course of any usefulness but I do occasionally like to provoke. It's the Celt in me I suppose.0 -

That's just your interpretation. It doesn't fit with the experiences of 300,000 members and growing. It doesn't fit the experience of Janinenew. It doesn't fit my experience as a customer either. It doesn't fit the experience of any other ID who contributes to this forum.
So to argue they are indisputable facts is plain ridiculous. The best you can come up with is that the people that contribute to this forum who have happy experiences must have a vested interest. You even apply that criterion to Janinenew who despite telling you otherwise you still make false accusations.

Erm, I'm not completely "without interest", but I expect my position is relatively unbiased.
I'm a customer of UW, as required by my landlord.
I'm also an employee of British Gas.
I do try to keep my posts impartial, though, in that if something is said which I feel is wrong (either in support or in criticism of UW) then I'll point it out if noone else has. I'm reading this thread because there have been things said in it which I didn't know, and which have saved me money.0 -

People would not be surprised if he reported that UW had been taken over by aliens and that Charles Wigoder was actually from Alpha Centauri and was trying to take over the world through brain washing at Massive Action Day events. They obviously would not believe him but would just put it down to an over active imagination. If Cardew reported the same thing people would probably ask if he had a bit too much to drink. Back to a well tried and tested UW rep 'if all else fails' technique. Namely insult MSE members. Really vinny, I wish you would answer the substantive point, that I would pay 19% extra (£257) using UW. That is a fact, no matter how many insults you throw or spam posts your mate 'independent' shareholder carmine makes, a fact is still a fact.
Unless of course you subscribe to the conspiracy theory that energyhelpline (recommend by MSE) is in cahoots with 'dark forces' to push UW down their list to make them look expensive?0 -

The thread starts with the OP setting the scene of the problem (as already posted above). This first post ends with the question (also as already posted):
"What would you do????" This was the end of the first post in the thread.
Along comes Keggs (to make the second post in the thread, which I reproduced in full above, and do so again):
"Personally I would tell him to cancel his services. No point risking any further aggro"
Further discussion did develop, but as that came in subsequent posts to the first and second reported here, are immaterial to the point being made.

The various discussions have a lot of relevance. Your attack on me is reproachful. I offered genuine advice which the individual may or may not have taken. I had every right to do so in the privacy of that forum. As you have found yourself barred from that forum after I intervened on the forum's behalf then any further conversations you would not not have intimate knowledge of. Misusing information gleaned from such private forums for your own agenda is distasteful at the very least. It's tantamount to spying. People are welcome to join that forum if they feel it will help them in the UW business. Your membership is in breach of that and you use it s for your own twisted purpose only.
I have a genuine concern for my fellow IDs as we all have to each other. That's the whole point of that forum. It's also to discuss concerns and issues. No company is perfect. It never will be. But your antipathy towards the company and anyone associated with it is to put it mildly disturbing.
Are you going to apologise to Nigewick by the way. Are you going to enlighten everyone about your fabulous (if seemingly no existent cash back card).
Perhaps Vinnyph Quentin is one of the aliens instead. His lack of human warmth is clear enough for all to see to make me wonder. Very sad individual.0
