Utility Warehouse (Telecom Plus) Discussion

People are, in my mind probably scared to post any positive experiences on this board as we are immediately accused of having a 'vested' interest or being stupid and naive.
Its usually carmine who accuses new posters of being a 'sock puppet'. Not a term I was familiar with until this thread.0 -
I have just been comparing prices for my gas and electricity
Did you use your actual numbers, and, did you check actual costs and T &C's relating to cashback etc? I am not saying that Utility Warehouse is for you, but, you do need to take all of your circumstances into consideration before making your final decision.
I am an independent distributor with Utility Warehouse and the views I express may not be shared by the company. The mind of the bigot is like the pupil of the eye; the more light you pour upon it, the more it will contract.

Janninew,
No I don't work for a Utility company and never have worked in the industry. I also have shares in most of the Utility companies - not UW.
I appreciate that you stated earlier that English is not your native language - and without, I hope, sounding patronising may I state that your English is excellent.
Tristemente, parlo molto male italiano - ma ho guidato un Ferrari!
However can you not understand that I have never stated that every poster on here has a vested interest in promoting UW.
You have stated that you are prepared to pay much more for your gas and electricity for your own reasons. Nobody is criticising your decision.
That said the majority of people on this thread praising UW are salesmen for the firm. There is a determined campaign by them (and Carmine) to divert any discussion away from UW's high prices.
So it is absolutely correct to state "this thread is riddled with posts from those who have a vested interest in promoting UW"
I was genuinely interested if you have or do currently work for an energy, you do seem very clued up!
Thanks for the compliment regarding my English, it should be excellent, I've lived here for quite awhile now. Its much better than my Italian!

Go on any rep or even carmine (who allegedly blocks my posts;)) state specifically that UW provide cheap gas and electricity compared to the competition? Go on....The mind of the bigot is like the pupil of the eye; the more light you pour upon it, the more it will contract.

I thought (hoped) that this thread had died a natural death, what with the circular arguments.
Seems not and we are once more back into the fray................and how very boring it has become.
I am a UW ID etc.'The only thing that helps me keep my slender grip on reality is the friendship I have with my collection of singing potatoes'

I get my Gas and Electricity from Utility Warehouse and pay less that I would with companies that were quoted to me as THE cheapest. AND, I am an independent distributor with Utility Warehouse. I showed my actual figures for all to see, whereas you have not.
I also pay less with UW than I would with any other supplier. Simple as. And, I'm NOT a distributor but I AM a shareholder. In fact, I'm a very happy customer AND shareholder at the moment
PS Amazing how the detractors get all evasive when asked to provide something so non-descript as usage figures. Summat to hide? We've already had the ridiculous attempt by Cardew to compare his DUAL FUEL-reduced leccy figure with UWs stand-alone leccy figure (including the £20 club fee) but can we get his gas usage? Nope, it's a secret (even though he will have had to put it into energyhelpline to get UWs leccy figure). Weird or what?Call me Carmine....

The bottom line on your bill is, err, the bottom line. How you arrive at that is down to personal choice. You yourself have accepted a 5 year lock-in with BG to get your deal for gas and electric. Not something some people would find palatable. Similarly, you commited to the gowdawful BT for ANOTHER 18 months and had to threaten to leave to allegedly get £5 knocked off the price of your phone/broadband. Of course, to paraphrase yourself:
''BT have without doubt some of the very highest telephony/broadband prices in the UK.''
This is what you don't get - people are individuals and what suits them may not suit someone else. Now I suspect you'll state that this is the gas and electric forum and the fact that you are with BT is irrelevant (an example of your diversionary tactics) - as is the fact that you won't use a cash back card so are clearly losing out on potentially hundreds of £s per year and have been paying massively over the odds for the gas and electric on your annex (something you inavertantly let slip in your haste to paint UW in a bad light). Yet you still persist in attempting to lecture people in what is best for them.Call me Carmine....
