Gosh what alot for me to catch up on!
I've just spend the afternoon with my parents and I showed my Dad this thread and he actually couldn't believe it! I think I have gotten him hooked on this web-site now and especially this thread! Obviously he didn't read all the comments (it wouldn't have taken him a long time!) It seemed to him that some of the posters on here clearly have a problem with UW and people who choose to have their utilities through them. He even though maybe a couple of posters use to either work for UW or work for rival energy companies. That was his opinion as a first time reader! I hadn't thought about this possibilty before, but judging by the amount of time and effort some people spend trying to discredit the company he may have a point.
The venom directed towards people who work for, or customers of UW is quite shocking when you look at the thread with fresh eyes. Nobody seems to accept that we all have the freedom to pay whomever we want for our utilities, different strokes for different folks! The same questions are asked again and again as the posters aren't getting the answers they like. We are all individuals and all have different wants and needs. I would never question why anybody uses npower or BG, thats up to them, but I have had my own choice questioned several times, i've posted all my useage information and told my own experiences with UW as a customer for the last 7 years.:heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:

Of course he is aware of who I buy my utilities off. He has no knowledge of the company though or how they operate. He is very 'old school' with his approach to gas/electric. He couldn't believe how much time people spent on here though having the same old arguments!:heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:

Gas 30490 Electric 3980 comes to £1344? Used post code HP20 1UA (bucks county Council).
* Although he stated end of April that his Winter daily usage for leccy was 15kw/day so 3980 too low? He's very open about his personal details in other threads so not sure why he's so buttoned-up in here.
I didn't realise you missed me so much, we have become firm friends indeed. Do you think my projected spend £1345 is excessive? You have even gone to the great trouble to make up some figures for me, how nice. I found some interesting average energy usage figures from simplyswitch, are they part of your 'axis of evil'? They might help you too fabricate more posts. Did I mention that UW would cost me 19% (£257) extra over the next 12 months?;)
Gas
Number of bedrooms at your property Avg. gas consumption (kWh) 1-10,000 2-15,000 3-25,000 4-29,000 5 or more Add 2500 kWh per room
Electricity
Number of bedrooms at your property Avg. electricity consumption (kWh) 1-2,500 2-4,000 3-5,500 4-6,000 5 or more Add 250 kWh per room
When you were manufacturing my energy usage figures, did you scroll down the results in energyhelpline to find UW? They are long way down.:rotfl:0 -

Why did you edit the post mate? When I read it initially your 'Cop Out King' looked more like 'Cop Out King'. Very puerile, seriously and I thought we were mates? I think I may have to reassess our friendship.:cool:0 -

jimexbox, you're back! Where've you been, mate? You just seemed to disappear off the face of the Earth when I posted the post I reproduce below in response to your specific question (note no 'my personal life is none of your business' cop out crap! Let's have a response from you now, please.Quote:Originally Posted by jimexbox

After all mate, you are independent, or so you claim, yet you absolutely refuse to discuss this avenue on how to save money. Seriously, I value your money saving opinion, you have helped me in the past, of which I am truly grateful (see I'm not a guru, apology maybe?) So what is you opinion? Or do you not have one?
My discount card or yours? I'm using my discount card to maximum effect, jimexbox. I'm more than happy to pay more for my gas and electric than I would with the online deals in order to get all my calls paid for. The fact it's entirely legit as well doesn't keep me awake at night. You see, if I switched away to the cheaper deals for G&E, not only would I lose the unique stuff UW provide (like monthly billing, the ability to pay for exact usage each month, paper bill on the door mat as a reminder on usage every month, no exit fees, tie-in periods, risk of UW placing me on a silly fixed tariff automatically, no foreign call centres, ability to reduce bill further by referring like-minded individuals etc etc etc) but I would also lose the daytime and evenings inclusive calls to 01, 02, 03, 0845/0870, and crucially for us, those 2 intl. destinations that we ring).
Here's a question for you (don't panic, it's not asking for any details of your money saving regime):
If you made 5 daytime calls each of an average of 30 secs duration...how much would BT charge you just for these calls each month?
Now I've answered you (again!) are you at least going to consider asking Quentin for details of this cash back card? It would appear you can get 5% on your shopping and, crucially, you and your wife wouldn't have to change your shopping habits one iota. £6,500 x 5% = £325. In your pocket. And you stop where you are for your utilities. Why wouldn't anybody want to do this, let alone a committed money saver? It's a no-brainer, mate. Ask him....Call me Carmine....

Because quite simply my personal life is none of your business.
All I am asking is proof that you have the best deal for you in your circumstances. I did not provide false numbers for my usage and I believe that you are wrong to assume that others here will accuse you of putting up false results. The mind of the bigot is like the pupil of the eye; the more light you pour upon it, the more it will contract.

Prove me wrong if you don't accept that UW supply expensive energy.
