Let no man, advert or internet site tell me where to get my Utilities0 -
For Vinny, now I've put it again, any chance of a reply from you? Minus any insults. Or are you you going to be childish and ask for the question again...
Why don't you get this free UW broadband instead of paying £24.75 for your phone/broadband plus cost of calls?Call me Carmine....
HAVE YOU SEEN QUENTIN'S CASHBACK CARD??0 -
The first sign of madness is keep doing the same thing and expect to get a different result each time.
Well, that's Chaos theory put to bed then. Suprised I didn't see it in the papers.
To be fair, Jim has a point - the argument about using the card to bring down the price of gas and electricity is moot, as the same savings can be made without adding gas and electricity to your UW package. There does seem to be a lot of deflection around that.
It boils down to how much- monthly variable billing
- 24/7 calls
For some, it's worth it, but as this is the gas and electricity forum of a money saving site, you have to expect posters to lean towards moneysaving over niceties.0 -

I've already answered this question in great detail. Where you have studiously avoided my question. Please mate, to save the entire UW company any more embarrassment, this is still a savable situation. Just give me a coherent sensible reply, to a very fair question.0 -

I would contend that UW energy is for no one at all. Its clearly vastly more expensive than tariffs offered by those nasty big 6 suppliers, usually in there with the ultra expensive green tariffs. I've shown how a person with a sufficient spend on the UW discount card can effectively have a free phone and broadband package from UW, with any credit given back to them. Why waste your hard earned discount trying to get the UW energy tariff down to an acceptable level? It would be far better spent in the way I suggest.
It's a similar point to one I was getting at a week or two ago, where I was suggesting that (from a financial point of view) the rational approach was to take a single fuel from UW, and take the second from the cheapest supplier.
However, I think you're right- if the other "Main Services" that UW offer are no more expensive than UW's competitors, then the cost-minimising decision would be to take one of these services, still benefit from the UW card, and take your gas/elec from a cheaper alternative.
If cost-minimising is not your only goal, UW do offer things that other suppliers currently don't.0 -
