Why waste you hard earned discount reducing the cost of UW energy, when it would be better spent on getting free broadband and phone from UW? Then choosing a much cheaper online tariff.

Is this such hard question to answer? I sure new/casual readers will be alarmed at the evasiveness of the UW folk around here.

More to the point, why bother joining the uw club, paying their membership fee and having to take a service from them just to get hold of their risky prepay card?

It isn't "unique" to uw to offer a prepay card with discounts available in return for prepaying for your shopping.

Why not do the moneysaving thing if you are keen on using a prepayment card?

Independently get a prepay card that also does the shopping discounts (with some more/better deals with shops than the uw card offers), and get discounts directly off your shopping, and separately purchase your utilities at the best prices (or be free to take advantage of switching cashback etc).

It seems convoluted to sign up to the expensive uw just for the privilege of being able to apply for their card (complete with the risks they make you agree to when taking it out), when the concept of shopping discount with a prepayment card is not unique to the uw - though they seem to be trying to give us that impression!

    Jimexbox,

Do you expect to get a different answer if you keep asking the same question.

The first sign of madness is keep doing the same thing and expect to get a different result each time.

  • Answering jimexbox's questions is an excercise in futility, janninew. If you don't answer in exactly the way he wants you to answer he just keeps asking the same question over and over again. And again. And again. And again. But this assertiveness/aggression only seems to manifest itself online. Interesting.

Will anyone please please answer this very simple question? Why waste you hard earned discount reducing the cost of UW energy, when it would be better spent on getting free broadband and phone from UW? Then choosing a much cheaper online tariff.

UW do not offer free broadband and phone, and to get the inclusive phone calls thrown in 24/7, you have to take 4 services do you not.

Remember we are on a money saving site, not how to spend more site. Are you seriously suggesting I spend 19% more for monthly billing?

No I am not suggesting you change suppliers to UW, nor have I ever suggested that. You asked for reasons, I gave mine! Simple! To be perfectly honest I don't care which supplier you use!

Have you even bothered reading the posts? No one is saying you offer free phone and broadband. If you use your UW discount card significantly it is entirely possible to have a zero bill for BB and phone. You even offer add-ons if you wish and you could even make a profit.

The point I'm making, which every single UW person has avoided answering, is why use your discount on an expensive energy tariff, when you could achieve what I've outlined above. Then take a far cheaper online energy tariff.

All I get is personal insults, the best answer so far is monthly billing. What a massive intensive for me to shell out 19% more this year. Really guys you must try harder.:rotfl:
