Also tesco value curry sauce is like watery soup whereas sainsburys basics curry sauce is still high quality. The same with all the sainsburys basics range. The food is higher quality in sainsburys and the customer service better than tesco's.

Is this your opinion or do you have verifiable independent data to back up such claims?

Its just your opinion that UW energy prices are high.

How can it be an opinion when I can show you proof that UW would cost me 19% more than my current tarrif? If you believe that energyhelpline is deliberately misleading MSE who recommend this site, I suggest you PM Martin.
  • We order online at Sainsbugs through mysupermarket and get ipoints in addition to nectar points.

Be careful with Tesco, points offers normally equate to price hikes. A recent example being the Cava they had with 300 extra pts on it. £10.99 in Tesco at the time but £5.99 in Sainsbugs. It's all a marketing excercise, basically.

Nice thing about Tescos is they invariably c.ock it up. They brought down the Cava to the price it actually should be (£5.49) but rather amusingly left the 300 points offer running for 24 hours. Result? I got 12 bottles of the stuff and taking into account the 5% discount for buying 6+ it cost me £62 in total - along with £146-worth of deals :money:
I never shop in Tesco unless I can get more in deals than the shopping costs as it's bloody expensive. Something some of their more savvy customers are realising - whilst still the biggest supermarket out there their growth figures currently are half what the rest of the big 4 are reporting.

Do you have usage figs to back up your claim regarding your tariff and the saving compared to UW? If so, let's have them. If you won't supply them, stop challenging other people to do what you are not prepared to do as that would be rank hypocrisy....

I would love to answer mate, but you blank me whenever I ask you a question about UW. You wont even answer a question whether I can ask you a question.

You cant have it both ways....

You should go into tescos and buy a tin of tesco value curry sauce and go into sainsburys and buy a jar of sainsbury basics curry sauce and compare them. I have tried both. It needs a qualitative analysis not an analytical quantitative analysis. Try and pour a tin of tesco value curry sauce over a bag of chips on your lap without it running all over the floor and you getting wet. Sainsbury basics curry sauce will stay on the chips because it has the consistency of sauce. The tesco's one is very watery.

Can you show proof that the price quoted on energyhelpline will be the amount you will actually pay over the next year? no, the prices will change over next year anyway.

Does energyhelpline include the savings by taking the UW package? no,

Does energyhelpline take the UW gas and electricity tariff profiling for high, stand and low user separate for each service? no, they combine the profiling incorrectly.

Does energyhelpline count the membership fee once when taking both services? no they incorrectly count it twice.

Is energyhelpline independant? no. they get paid a commission from the energy companies. They have an affiliate system where people get paid for referring others to it.

Does UW pay a commission to energyhelpline? no, UW does not pay any commission to any of the switching sites. They get lots of money from the big 6 energy suppliers they don't need more from UW.

Whether or not energyhelpline do this on purpose is not something I have mentioned but you have inferred. Makes me wonder why you immediately bring that up. Can you rely on energyhelpline as being an independant assessment. Thats a matter of opinion as is whether you think UW are high for energy.

Do you remember the old advert for roundtrees fruit pastels.

"Bet you can't put a roundtrees fruit pastel in your mouth without chewing it."

    Maybe tescos could do one.

"Bet you can't put tesco value curry sauce on your chips without spilling it."

The garden plums are ripe for the picking so I made some plum jam using the left over sainsburys basics curry sauce jar. After boiling the jar of course. Try doing that with a tin of tesco value curry sauce.

    recipe
    1.5kg sainsburys preserving jam sugar = £1.27/kg
1.5kg of plums, free for me
    1 pint of water, free
    4 jars = 4 x 4p = 16p (left over sainsburys basics curry sauce jar, 4p each)

Came out perfect if I may say so myself. Delicious. Plums are perfect for making jam. Only about 30p a jar as well.

You can use normal sugar because plums have high pectin content. Using preserving sugar makes the jam clearer.

If you want the rest of the recipe I can post it. Happy jamming. All thanks to left over sainsburys basics curry sauce jars.

So it seems UW are good for electricity and gas if you buy a new TV every month, sit in front of it eating TV dinners - only ever buying Sainsburys curry sauce (though not using it for Indian food), and sit on the phone for long periods during weekdays.

    Hmm.

Meanwhile, who is best for the rest of us who eat proper food (at a table) etc? Frankly I can't accept that Sainsburys are incredibly cheap. I have actually been to Sainsburys supermarkets before and I know that they aren't. Meanwhile I have yet another Tesco voucher here that gives me as much as 15% off my next shop, ignoring the Clubcard points altogether.
