Wish they wouldn't do this... I know it's part of the reason why they offer the cards in the first place, as this information is valuable to them... but I just hate the "big brotherness" of Nectar and their ilk. I don't have a nectar card for this reason, so guess I won't be getting the UW JS card either unless I find out otherwise (yes, I'm a UW customer).
And yes- I'm paranoid enough to use cash for nearly all my purchases.
Hi Perelandra
Just had a thought. Why not go back to the person who originally signed you up as a member to see if he can find out whether they do do what you think they do. That way, it will either put your mind at rest or confirm what you suspect.
Many people are probably like yourself in that they don't like companies using information you give them either directly or inadvertently.
I don't think customers services would know although they might so you could always contact them yourself.
Actually - just had another thought because it would be useful for IDs to know. I'll see what I can find out myself.

Thanks if you can find anything out, it would be interesting to know.
Unfortunately I can't really ask the person who signed me as a customer, as it's a rather faceless landlord.(I rent my house).

Wonder how much training he did before becoming a uw rep, and advising/recommending (or should it be forcing) his tenants to become members of the uwdc?0
-
Probably more than you had before 'recommending' Quidco all over MSE.Call me Carmine....
HAVE YOU SEEN QUENTIN'S CASHBACK CARD??0 -
Every time you repost this "claim", expect to have it pointed out how unlucky all your customers were that you got to trhem.
If only they had used the MSE way to switch from their obviously expensive tariffs to the cheapest option, just think how much they would be saving now!
I really don't 'get' this. Surely if Mr Customer is now paying less/getting better VFM/more benefits with UW than they were previously, then where is the problem?
There are always cheaper deals to be had, but it's not the role of a UW ID to promote competitors services...it's up to those competitors to take their solution to the customer/the customer to root them out and for UW Id's to promote the benefits of UW against them. Surely this is simply 'business'?Utility Warehouse Distributor/Professional Network Marketer0 -
Regarding "Negative Bills", presumably this means that the mislead uw members have built up a credit during the summer months which happens with most fixed monthly payment schemes. Nothing unique about that. In fact if only 100 uw members are in that position now, something is wrong with their monthly payment system!
The risky "CashBack Card" isn't unique at all (and doesn't pay cashback either).
You can get better cashcard benefits elsewhere, and not have to tie it to buying expensive utilities, thereby getting the best of both worlds (cheaper utilities plus cashcard shopping discounts) if you want to use a prepayment card.
No - you presume incorrectly. Those poor, unfortunate 'mislead' customers have used our card purchasing their day to day items like shopping and fuel to such an extent over the past month that their total bill (inc telephony and broadband) has been reduced to Zero with some even receiving a credit towards their next monthly bill. Nothing to do with building up credit over the Summer.
I'm sure they're gutted at becoming Club Members and would rather go back to paying for the services they use...admit it, you can't get better than Zero (unless you're being paid to be a customer!).
Why is it 'risky' btw? I would also suggest you're treading on dodgy ground as far as forum rules go with your continued insistence that UW ID's are poorly trained and deliberately mislead people. If you're doing it to get a reaction, congratulations, you've got me fuming mad. I consider myself to be an ethical and honest successful business person, and my whole business depends on this trust and honesty otherwise it simply does not work.Utility Warehouse Distributor/Professional Network Marketer0 -

Absolutely.
And ALL my customers, whether residential or commercial, are saving money as opposed to their previous suppliers. FACT.
Some have the Cashback card, some don't.

I did decide to put Quentin on the ignore list - wasn't going to but I am now fed up reading his repetitive garbage. He really doesn't know what he is talking about now so just arguing
with him is just feeding his own egocentric behaviour. I've better things to do - like talking to people to show them the benefits of the UWDC.
Goodbye Quentin. It was fun while it lasted though.
BTW You should get out more - you might just find in the real world people actually do like to talk us UWDC IDs. You would be surprised how many.

Quentin, what kind of response it that?
Sorry, I'm a bit thick - you'll have to point out the bit where you responded to my post that addresses your misunderstanding of the card and the fact that it is not our role to promote rival companies services...Utility Warehouse Distributor/Professional Network Marketer0
