lol, Carmine for someone who isn't a UW "salesman" you've made a huge contribution to this thread, over 750 posts.

Simple. I have no life. And, according to the 'adult' who is so keen on a games console he includes it in his username, I'm 'complex'. In fact, I'm so complex and lead such a boring life I'm thinking of launching my own twitter project. suspect.gif

PS I'm now surfing with the aid of UW (actually, it's Opal Telecom/CPW/TT but don't tell anyone). Gas & leccy to follow...

750 posts eh carmine in one thread where you have no interest and have never criticised UW. You and your UW salemen friends cannot even admit that Asda are cheaper than Sainsburys, independently proven. That taking just gas and electricity with UW is a bad idea, for some reason you refuse to answer this question, frankly embarrassing. To top it all off, the 'UW faction' cannot even admit that the methodology used by 'Which' magazine is open to abuse by certain interested parties.

Im afraid you stance as an independent source of information/viewpoint is perplexing to say the least. And yes, I can make 'outside' callls from work, so why not answer my questions?

    Jiminexbox,

You need to understand the background to carmine’s participation on MSE.

He joined a year ago and immediately clashed with a number of regular contributors(not myself initially) who christened him The Troll and several placed him on their ignore list.

His modus operandi was, and is, to personally attack anyone who disagrees with him and thoroughly research their posting history in an attempt to find nuggets that he can quote against them. e.g. a poster phoning from his workplace!! This in his opinion is sufficient to discredit them and devalue any input to MSE. A rather twisted logic.

Almost everyone who dared to post in support of a Utility company was(and is) accused of either being an employee or of having a vested interest as a shareholder in the company.

Anyway he discovered that a number of his perceived opponents had posted in this thread and this became fertile ground for his trolling activities.

If you care to examine his posting history you will find that it consists of a diatribe against all Utility companies – BG in particular – and the whole gas and electricity industry. The exception being UW.

Now UW have unquestionably just about the most expensive gas and electricity available in UK, and remember that he adopted his pro-UW trolling stance before the introduction of the Cashcard.

Everything about the company – their high prices, their disgracefully misleading advertising and the sales tactics of many representatives – would normally be an anathema to an intelligent person with an avowed dislike of the industry. So you have to wonder why he is so illogical and unbalanced in his vehement defence of UW.

Well he has recently announced that he is a UW shareholder and of course it is inevitable that it is just a matter of time before he becomes an ‘independent’ distributor. So everything becomes clear!

As he himself recently stated: This thread has a lot of hypocrites!

I'm such a so-called troll that my ratio of thanked posts to actual posts is far higher than yours, Hugh Jeego. Worrying, don't you think? Whilst we are on the subject of hypocrites, aren't you a Centrica shareholder? And didn't you once start a thread on a BG fixed tariff when it was clear to anyone with at least one functioning brain cell that it was to be avoided at the time? It works both way, Hugh. (We'll not mention the long-standing bank shares and US real estate. Ouch, Warren Buffet you aint.) And talking of modus operandi, your preferred option is to label people trolls who dare to question the great Cardew, the legend in his home (returnable) home hub. Funnily enough, I picked up a lot of my thanks in my early days on here when I was attacked by you and that the other virtual bully and know all, espresso, and decided to give it back to you both. You're nowhere near as popular on here as that ego tells you, Hugh.

    Cardew's utilty prviders?

Gas and Electric = British Gas
    Telecoms = BT

Did de-regulation stop at your driveway?

PS I will never be a UW distributor, simply because I don't wish to be but probably more importantly I have absolutely no need to be. Won't stop me trying to get my bill down to zero, though. LOL.

LOL. The Grocer also independently stated that Tesco were cheaper than Sainsburys, though, so maybe you should enter this thread and tell the vast majority of people on there that they are wrong? Go on, I dare you, lol.

PS I'm not exactly sure why me becoming a UW CUSTOMER is so unpalatable to The Anti UW Faction (TM) Have I ever told YOU where to shop and where to get your utilities from? Err, no. You stick with the company you detest and who you feel treat their customers like idiots, it's of no consequence to me, lol. I am all about price. UW is cheaper for me and my family. End of story. What the hell does that have to do with 'you lot'? I put up my challenge as a way of blowing a hole through your 'expensive' argument. No-one has blown a hole through my challenge (unless the suggestion to make personall calls from work could be seen as doing so, lol). Is that what annoys you? Who knows? I'm not a shrink...

The link you kindly provide, is for Tesco Vs Sainburys. Ive never alleged Tesco are cheaper than Sainsbury, although Ive proven with independent facts rather than anecdotal evidence that Asda are cheaper than Sainsburys. Which holes your challenge below the water line, considering the 'apparent' discount at Sainsburys is such a pivotal element.

Again its UW who tell you where to shop, you don't seem to have a problem with that, odd.

Can you please aswer my question? What would you carmine recommend if an individual wishes to use UW for gas and electric only?

    LMAO!!

Award for most troll like (and childlike) post of the week goes to Carmine!!!

So a higher ratio thanked posts to actual posts means your view about UW is right does it?

    <
    OK so whats your excuse?
    Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently! ;)

You rather prove my point about twisted logic!

Apart from your denial that you intend to become a UW distributor, do you dispute anything I wrote in the post above?
  • I can tell you why I like this thread

I love the irony that I am a relatively serious shareholder in TelecomPlus but I wouldn't be a customer. They are too expensive for me. I'd have to spend £18k pa @ Sainsburys to break even.

Other than some of the crazy conspiracy theories and the passionate believers of them, on abovetopsecret, this thread is one of the best on the internet.

A bit like the faithful v atheists, everyone believing they are the ones that know the truth.

    Brilliant
