lol, don't think for a second I have any problems with you spending YOUR money any way you want. You earned the right when you earned the money.
I was just teasing......

Unless you or carmine can find independent data to refute what the Grocer survey indicates, that Asda is cheaper than Sainsburys. I will still have to conclude that Asda is cheaper for everyday foods that most normal people eat.
Its carmine who has a extremely specific challenge, I simply pointed out that Adsa is cheaper for food, which largely negates the 5% UW card discount which is trumpeted so loudly.

Whilst the fact that Asda has won the cheapest supermarket award for all those consecutive years certainly makes impressive reading, if you delve slightly deeper into it this would appear to be based on a basket of just 33 products (and I'm suspecting restricted to brand names or a fair comparison would be almost impossible). We rarely buy brand names. Of course, no matter how cheap they may be selling it for, if it's not actually in stock then that would negate the 'savings'.
But it was a different story for Asda on service and availability, the other two G33 pillars. Last year Asda won a historic treble but this time round came a distant fourth on both service and availability, ahead of only Tesco on both counts.Call me Carmine....

We are talking about what individuals want, NOT, "the average person" or "what a "Grocer survey" says.
Nigewick, Ive provided you with independent data which indicates that Asda is cheaper than Sainsburys. Now if your assertion is that carmine and UW customers are not 'normal/average' and require different food to sustain life, fair enough. But, for most folk shopping at Asda will save money. If you disagree, please provide independent data as opposed to anecdotal evidence.0 -
Mmmnnn?
Got the gas and leccy costs off energyhelpline.
Talk talk essentials package is £6.49/month + £11.25 line rental.
http://www.talktalk.co.uk/products/broadband/essentials
i.e £17.74/month which was the figure I used.
(Not recommending TT BTW)
I'll leave the 'my supermarket is considerably cheaper than yours' (in a brummy accent) argument to them others!!That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
What about the 24/7 inclusive calls and Intl option, penrhyn?
PS Looks like York comes up with entirely different figures, as you say. Try S10 2TN.

This is true, they do give you the option of tailoring your package.
One thing from doing this bit of research is they are currently cheaper for me for phone/broadband than my current Sky Mid and and BT Evening/weekend package.
May have a further look when my BT contract runs out. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
Hi All,
We have been approached by a new friend of ours that we are missing a trick in not getting our utilities from UW. He is keen to show us what we are missing but we would like advice. We currently use Eon for gas and electricity, plusnet for phone/broadband and pay as we go for mobiles. We would appreciate advice on how to approach the meeting we have coming up!
The approach sounds a bit like pyramid selling about which we have misgivings!
Thanks!0
