Personally I don't find it a big deal at all having different bills for different services.
My phone bill and my mobile phone bill simply get direct debited.
It's very easy.
I agree too that's it's a unique selling point, but I don't personally feel it's that valuable.
Maybe valuable for a few individuals who find it hard keeping control of their current accounts or maybe someone who charges it all to a business but for most people I can't see that it's a big advantage.0 -
All the UWDC reps are coming out of the woodwork so as one myself I thought I might say a thing or two here also.
I have worked for them for about 3 years now and I have around 70 customers at the moment that I regularly help and keep in contact with.
This personal touch is much appreciated and its importance tends to be overlooked in forums like this. How often in larger companies do you ever get to speak to the same person twice?
Obviously the cheapest is not always the best otherwise the majority of people would shop at Lidl and Aldi instead of Waitrose and Marks and Spencer for their food.
The people posting on this forum are astute money savers and are prepared to shop around to save small amounts of money on their bills, wheras the majority of the British Public have never dne so and are immensely pleased to meet someone who can help them save and who does it all for them.
I have even recently come across a new customer who is signing in January who has been spending over £60 a month on dial up internet!!!
Now why has BT not contacted them and said come on to our Broadband service?
Why?
Because they want to keep the revenue probably.
Anyway, just wanted to make a point from a slightly different perspective.
"Quality" and "Customer satisfaction" is important as the Which reports have recently been saying twice this Autumn about UWDC.
Hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and a Peaceful New Year.
I have splashed out on a real tree and it smells wonderful -
Is that allowed I wonder!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am not sure that this comparison holds up.
I think it's fair to say that the quality of the food at Waitrose and M&S is not the same as Aldi and Lidl.
Whereas with electriicty and gas does not vary at all across providers.
It is only the billing and customer services that vary.
Therefore I don't think this is a valid comparison.
However I do take your point about the personal touch.
Many elderly people in particular would welcome this and a lot of people in their 80s wouldn't know how to switch a computer on.
As you say though, for many astute moneysavers who don't need (or in some cases would rather not have) the personal touch then it makes sense to go somewhere cheaper.
Personally I'm happier to deal with computers than people as they don't tend to have bad days :-)0 -
never mind all that lets all get drunk0

no but seriously, and i can see just how oooh so serious some of you good ol boys and girls talk to yourselves (yes, i too like reading my own posts) but let me say that if you really want to save money then do what i did: i saved up enough for a flight to Tahiti where, promptly upon arrival i burned my passport and took a vow of silence. i now live happily with no need for utilities and i can even get free access to the internet here in the public library in papeete. ps you must love coconuts though , and fish.
ps how are fc united doing these days?0 -
Hi there. I’m on Npower’s economy 7 using a prepayment meter and would like to switch to a cheaper provider.
Having used Uswitch, Telecom Plus has come out the cheapest by about a third. Are they a decent company to use and what is with the £21 annual membership fee?
NPower’s current Day rate is 12.13p compared to Telecom’s 8.3p
And
NPower’s current Night rate is 4.63p compared to Telecom’s 3.24p
There is a £74.46 standing charge compaired to Npowers £95.42
My monthly usage is around £55 and I have no gas supply.
Surprisingly Prepayment seems to come out the cheapest option. I expected DD to offer discounts but it would appear Telecom’s prices outweigh any of that.
Any suggestions/opinions would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers.Bet match total as of 04/10 = God Knows + About £1000 Quidco. Time for Mrs Huddsta to have a crack!!!
The Bronze Challenge - earn £250 in profits =£73.320 -
Telecom Plus is supposed to be discussed here.

Yes bendtoy I would.
With your critical faculties you would think that spelling and grammar would also be important to you.

I agree my point could have been expressed better grammar wise ,but cant spot a spelling mistake.
You are supposed to be friendly to other users on this site, and your sarcastic response to my post doesnt exactly do Telecom Plus any favours. If you cant take criticism why do you keep promoting this outfit here when there is no need to?
At least the other regular T-Plus distributors who post here have some respect for fellow posters and the site rules.0
