How often has your computer made you laugh??
Quite a lot actually.
I get jokes and funny videos on it all the time.Nigel, off to see the grandchildren at Christmas, not compters
Of course, but surely you are not suggesting that I should be relying on utlity salepeople for company?
I am happily married and have wonderful family and friends.
Why would I need "personal contact" from someone at the Utility Warehouse.
BTW - I am a customer currently and I have NEVER had any personal contact. I signed up via a website.
I would NEVER pay extra to talk to a sales person and I don't honestly think this is a moneysaving suggestion, although I have already agreed that some elderly (lonely) people may see it as a benefit.0 -

Do the comparisons again - maybe try a different comparison site.
Uswitch have got it wrong.
UW do charge more if you don't pay by dd. You'd have thought one of their helpful reps would have been on before now to help you on this.0 -

Well I've ended up going with Scottish Power, did not like the Utility Warehouse CS. Spent quite a while phoning around myself getting tariffs as I don't reay trust Uswitch, my results didn't vary much but I prefer to know in my own mind how they arrived at their figures.Bet match total as of 04/10 = God Knows + About £1000 Quidco. Time for Mrs Huddsta to have a crack!!!
The Bronze Challenge - earn £250 in profits =£73.320 -
My friend is a utility warehouse distributor and he signed me up a couple of years ago.
At the time I got a £100 saving from a previous npower supply of utlities, and also saved £60 a year on my broadband. I appreciated everything going onto one bill too, just made life a bit easier.
But now it is so uncompetitive.0 -
Just bragging that I'll be being entertained by my granddaughter and grandson
Fair enough but I'd just like to brag that I am WAY too young for that :-))
I never realised you were quite so OLD Nigel :-))If you found out a mate was effectively ripping you off by £120 a year just to pocket a few quid himself how would feel? Let me tell you. You would feel very very angry.
I understand your anger as he was a mate, but I feel you've been a bit naive.
Did you really expect him to review YOUR utilities and let you know when there was cheaper available elsewhere?
What other company offers this service?
Some companies (like John Lewis and Amazon) offer price matching but it's up to YOU to put in the claim.
They don't do this because they are wonderfully nice. They do it because they get more custom by making the offer and only a few ardent moneysavers ever bother to put a claim in.
I am really sorry you've had this experience with a mate (ex-mate) but I'm afraid it's true that NO-ONE looks after your money like you do.0 -
ThrobsBlackHat.
I am a ex distributor of theirs one of the reasons i left being that i could not personally comfortably promote the service to friends, relatives, etc knowing full well their were cheaper suppliers on the market. But some can!
Their are some really genuine nice distributors out their ,but i know of some who heavly promote T-Plus to their friends and use cheaper services themselves. Two faced eh.
I now wonder why if the customers are so satisfied as some senior distributors would have you believe, how come the total number has hardly risen over the last couple of years , despite the efforts of an ever growing army of distributors? It would appear that the 14,OOO plus distributors (?) must be recruiting new customers at approximately the same rate that existing customers are leaving. Not a healthy sign.0 -
He told me they would always be cheaper than the market.
At the time he signed me up they were cheaper - fair enough.
I certainly have been a bit naive, but having just saved myself £205 next year off my mobile bill & £155 off my utilities I am relatively happy.0
