Take care if you get offered a martini presentation by anyone down at the gym:

    Hi Quentin

Is this type of link allowed on MSE? I seriously think that if a UW distributor posted this they would be accused of advertising. You presumably have posted it to demonstrate something negative about the methodology shown in the video.

Also, another question, as this link is from a Telecom Plus site, of which I assume you must be a member to be able to post the link, am I to assume from this that you are a closet distributor ?

If so, should you not declare it when you post on this thread?

PS I am a distributor for UW, but my signature has been removed as it states I am a distributor for UW.

You used this forum to offer the list of reduced prices if prospects, (though I see uw prefers to call prospects "contacts"), pm you their e-mail address, and now say you were just answering a question!

We know the way uw work when they get hold of a "contact".

They publicly state that once a contact has had a Martini Presentation (wonder what Martini think about their name being used like this) then whatever they say, then the uw have them by the short and curlies, and a customer is guaranteed:

Can anyone think of any other possible outcome which guarantees escaping unscathed from a Martini Presentation (needless to say, there's no Martini to be seen at the one on one "presentation"!)
That is a lie. I offered the information to one person.

Another lie. You have no way of knowing how I work.

And a third lie. I had never heard of the "Martini Presentation" until you mentioned it.

    Hi Nige

On a loser with this one. If you offer help you are accused of "selling". Just ignore it and carry on being helpful. How are you getting on with your "unhappy" customer you are helping out?

I think I managed to help the one I offered help to, if only to present her billing history in a clearer way so that she could go back to CS with a more specific requirement.

    Keep up the good work

    Mike

Don't worry, it's not advertising any vermouth.

Though you could enlighten us as to why it's called the Martini Presentation!

That's the problem with Quentin; he gets carried away and makes mistakes. They could be costly ones as well. I know it's been mentioned that UW are not the sort of company to take action against some individual potentially libelling them but I think Quentin has now actually gone too far (he has had posts deleted on this thread previously, so SOMEONE must be checking). I wonder if UW check this thread? After all, it is a public thread and any person who has internet access can view it without registering first. Quentin needs to remember that no-one is truly anonymous on the internet and calling oneself Quentin on here is not going to put the people in the know off the scent. :p

So you are telling us that had 100 "contacts" contacted you in response to your post, you would have just ignored them?

It is in the rules - you aren't allowed to get round the no selling rules by getting people to pm you their details so you can contact them personally.

I was speculating some weeks ago on here about the possibility of Quentin being a failed distributor. It would explain a lot.

Competitive:- 1. Of or involving competition. 2. Comparing well with rivals. 3. Having a strong urge to win.
    Nigel,

That is really not worthy of you! i.e. Trying to define 'competitive' in that manner.

By that definition if I played Tiger Woods at golf I would be 'competitive' in definitions 1 and 3.

Definition 2(Comparing well with rivals) is crucial. I know with absolutly certainty I would not compare well with Tiger Woods at Golf.

Similarly UW do not compare well with any of the big 6 on gas and energy prices.

There is no point in telling people UW are competitive on price with BG and then pick their most expensive tariff for comparison. To add insult to injury, even selecting this tariff UW exclude any BG discounts and don't count the UW club membership fee.

I could probably be competitive with Tiger Woods at golf, if I stipulated he wear a blind fold and play left handed with a single right handed club of my choosing!

    Hi Quentin

I assume that would mean that Nige was selling, rather than providing information to a fellow poster a couple of days in advance of it being public information. Perhaps the no selling rules should be renamed the no contacting anybody on the forum if you are a UW distributor rules :kiss:
