As far as I'm concerned I dont go to any "extra ordinary lengths to save money"
That is of course your choice. Others though, may wish to pay less by accepting some restrictions and that is their choice. I do most of my grocery shopping at Sainsbury's and so there is no drawback for me in the method I am using to save money. It looks as though some people here do not want others to take advantage of what can for many be a way to pay less for their utilities.

But its ok, UW guarentee to be "competitive" whatever that means
Competitive:- 1. Of or involving competition. 2. Comparing well with rivals. 3. Having a strong urge to win.

I think that you will find Utility Warehouse is involved with competing for utility customers, they compare well against rivals for service and by judicious use of the pre payment card can not be beaten on price. They have a strong urge to win which is producing innovations that benefit shareholders, distributors and customers.

I was not touting for business, I was attempting to answer a question............

    You protest too much.

You used this forum to offer the list of reduced prices if prospects, (though I see uw prefers to call prospects "contacts"), pm you their e-mail address, and now say you were just answering a question!

We know the way uw work when they get hold of a "contact".

They publicly state that once a contact has had a Martini Presentation (wonder what Martini think about their name being used like this) then whatever they say, then the uw have them by the short and curlies, and a customer is guaranteed:
With the Martini Presentation, there are only three possible outcomes

    1. "Yes". All you have to do now is complete the paperwork.

    2. "I would like to think about it." This is what you say: "I understand that it's not the speed of the decision that counts but the accuracy of the decision that's important. So as part of your investigation it would make sense to trial the services (show the guarantees again in the brochure whilst you're saying this) wouldn't it (nod head). Your friend agrees. You complete the paperwork.

    3. "It's not for me." You say this. Thanks for your honesty but if you consider our guarantees (show them in the brochure while your saying this) it would make sense for you to save some money wouldn't it? (nod your head). Your contact agrees and you complete the paperwork.

Can anyone think of any other possible outcome which guarantees escaping unscathed from a Martini Presentation (needless to say, there's no Martini to be seen at the one on one "presentation"!)

To be a good distributor requires consistency, a good reputation, integrity, honesty, willingness to work, willingness to achieve, the ability to help others to achieve, the wish for others to succeed.

Your personal attacks are a disgrace!

You cannot address issues so resort to abuse.

Your definition of integrity and honesty is demonstrated if you read post #1270

Curiously, no-one knows what energy supplier Quentin uses as he never gets involved in any of the other threads on the G+E forum, he prefers to spew his negative bile in this thread exclusively. I'm assuming he has Post Office telephone as his phoone/bb provider as he was 'subtly' asking for referrals a couple of weeks ago in the thread on Home Phones. It's apparently £10 for the new customer and £10 for the referrer. But, get this, it's not £10 cash, it's £10 credit on the bill, lol. Sound familiar? Referral marketing, in other words. How ironic :D

HAVE YOU SEEN QUENTIN'S CASHBACK CARD??

Cardew, where do you get that UW are not competitive? Please remember our triple prise promise is aimed at standard tarriffs only and yes against standard tarriffs we are competitve.Online tarriffs we dont compete agaisnt full stop and we will probably never be competitive but thats fine as thats not UW's target market.

Despite knowing the rules fail again to declare your interest.

UW reps repeatedly ignoring the house rules not only bring the uw into disrepute, but face getting banned from the forum. See post #1 in this thread.

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

You keep reminding us that the guarantee is only aimed at standard tariffs.

As has been regularly pointed out, there are lots of other conditions not mentioned in the headlines of the worthless "guarantee". Why not help out by also reminding us of those?

eg. Doesn't include dual fuel discounts available from the others, doesn't include the uw club separate membership charge, only applies to uw members who pay by dd etc.

As none of the uw reps who post here can answer how a uw member (paying by dd) can claim against the "guarantee", could you ask one of the uw gurus we are learning of how you are supposed to deal with that question? And what is the uw definition of "competitive", so that people can see what exactly is being guaranteed.

How do you square this comment with the uw script on signing up a contact who says "its not for me"?

This is the script uw say their reps should say and do (note when they are supposed to nod their head at the "contact") in cases like this:
Thanks for your honesty but if you consider our guarantees (show them in the brochure while your saying this) it would make sense for you to save some money wouldn't it? (nod your head). Your contact agrees and you complete the paperwork.
