Unlike the major players T-Plus are not members of EnergySure

EnergySure is an initiative which seeks to promote best practice in energy selling. Developed by the Electricity Association (EA), the national trade association representing the interests of electricity generation, transmission, distribution and supply companies in the UK; the scheme grants official, nationally accepted recognition and accreditation to energy sales agents - both electricity and gas.

My understanding is that T-Plus Distributors Energy training is very basic.

Perhaps you should reprt them for misselling to Energywatch and ofcom.

    Hi jhp

You are right that T-Plus is not a member of energysure, as this is just the big six energy providers. It is however, governed by Ofgem and as such has to comply with the standards set.

As for the original thread from Paul2468, this is a case of mis-selling and, if he has the persons details, he should contact T-Plus and report them. To quote the T-Plus rules....

"Head Office will rigorously investigate any claims of mis-selling; Executives found to have mis-sold or mis-represented our energy services will have their executive position terminated"

It is in none of our interests to have this type of selling.

This is a change of attitude.

The ASA has a number of adjudications against them for falsely claiming to sell the cheapest energy - yet they took no notice and carried on making the claims on their website.

I used them for about a year. Never again: their customer service is appalling.
  • We used 'em for a year and then cancelled Gas & Elec after they paid "the annual bonus" which they forget to put in their blurb is less VAT. Unfortunately DH mobile is tied in for another few months, we thought 6 to 8 months but for some reason UW say we have 12 mths left and if we move we have to pay £200 to get out early. The B***dy phone they provided on the contract died over 3 mths ago, it wasn't that good to start with as the coverage was iffy. Only good thing is DH can phone home for free as we still have home phone with 'em for this reason only. Take a bit of friendly advice stay well away from 'em

If you can make it cheaper do so. If it's not reduced, in Primark, off ebay or free I can't have it
    :rotfl:
  • Indeed they have, but there is a distiction between the company and the self-employed distributors. The company literature may have been at fault, but this instance is of somebody "mis-selling" the company position and as such should be held to account.

  • Just had to get this off my chest. I am with Utility warehouse. Just had my latest bill. They have put my combined payment up for G and E to just over £100 per month. 2 years ago when I joined it was £42 per month and since then I have even had cavity wall insulation. Can anyone beat that price rise? Im off to another supplier thanks.

Seriously consider moveing your Landline/Calls as well,if your with them for this.

  • UW have just introduced their new range of products, which includes something called Broadcall which is a combined offering of Line Rental and 8mb Internet for £19.99 if you have LLU in your exchange, otherwise £27.99.

This is clearly designed to rival talktalk. However unlike talktalk you have to pay for your phone calls on weekdays and in addition to the cost per minute you also have a new 2p connection charge.

UW make a big thing about having unlimited free phone calls however to get these you have to sign up to 2 of their other services such as their ever so expensive gas and electricity, not likely. My friend just saved over £330 a year by moving his energy to NPower on line.

UW have also done away with the cashback for having additional services with them and have retained their £1.76 membership charge.

To cap it all - Wait for it, they have introduced a new 0871 number for their customer services, Deep Joy - Not.
