Probably not surprising to anyone, I had a UW rep on the phone to me at about 8:30 tonight, wanting to offer me an opportunity to increase my income without any effort on my part, he would do all the paperwork.

all I had to do was transfer billing to UW and I would receive a "commission", apparently he can pay this without my having to declare it as income tax... He will also pay me an extra commission for any other landlords I can recommend. I hate this kind of underhanded misleading scum vehemently.

    Hi Kippen Noedel

Could you clarify how the conversation went? I'm wondering if you perhaps misinterpreted a badly worded conversation on this person's part.

UW recently introduced a similar position to the CFR. This is open to business people who do not wish to become full distributors. That may be what he was talking about and got it wrong. We can all get confused. Personally I see no point to this new position.

However, if the discussion went as you said it did then it is very wrong and people like him should have the distributorship terminated.

Incidentally, please accept this comment in the spirit it is intended. I know you have a dislike for the UW for whatever reason but dislike for something can colour anything (including conversations). You may have misinterpreted the approach of this individual but then you might not have.
  • I've made a test purchase on the cashback site to see what the tracking is like. It looks like they are using Tradedoubler and AffiliateFuture as their affiliate services. There maybe others. It's a useful addition to the prtfolio I suppose. The search engine will be more useful i suspect when that comes online.

It doesn't matter who they use, if uw members use it they are just adding to uw profits!

You can get better/bigger cashback using the MSE cashback maximiser! Or just go straight to topcashback or quidco.

To qualify this generic statement - you may be able to get better/bigger cashback from other sites, but not always.

If anybody is promoting the company using underhand methods, it would be nice if you were to report them to the company. Utility Warehouse takes a very dim view of that sort of thing.

I am an independent distributor with Utility Warehouse and the views I express may not be shared by the company.

Apart from being able to get better/bigger cashback from other sites, you don't have to be a busy fool when you use them!

Before you can use the uw cashback site you have to join up and pay their monthly membership fee, then when you use the uw site, whatever cashback you earn gets used to pay your UW bill!

As an example, (maybe following the high gullibility level of the spanish teachers), the uw reps are being enthused to sell the uw to music teachers - because musicroom is now on their list of cashback sites.

Buy from musicroom via uw cashback site get 6.5% cashback, or go to topcashback and get 10% (or Quidco and get 12%).

What should moneysaving music teachers do?

I prefer to test things out, rather than take advice from a theorist like you. I'll then make my own mind up whether the service is useful to me or not. I'm already a member of topcashback, so I already have access to their stats on the vendor i picked. I will then be able to make a direct comparison between Topcashback and the UW service. I'll report my findings here.

You are the second uiw rep to use this forum to request that we report anyone using underhand methods to uw.

But how do we do that? Is there a special compliance department we need to contact?

And would they like to hear about the continued spamming of this (and other) forums from reps?

Yes, there is a Compliance officer who can be contacted at the Head Office address.
