2.0 Ford Mondeo TDCi Econetic six speed manual.
15 mile each way commute, 95% motorway, 41.2 mpg reported by the onboard computer. Kinda crap really.
You're not kidding. I do mostly country A and B roads, a bit of town. I average 55MPG out of my 2.0 Ford Mondeo TDCi 140 6 speed. I averaged 60MPG out of one tank several weeks ago.0 -
2.0 Ford Mondeo TDCi Duratorq 6-speed manual
Convers+ tells me I have an ave of 44mpg
Same as my car. I average 55-60MPG.
Are yours and Lums cars broken or would you like me to come and teach you how to drive it?
Over 12,000 miles at todays diesel prices you'd use £365 more diesel than I going on my lower average.0 -
Do you drive at 56mph everywhere or something?
Forgot to add that mine is a 2010 model.
Should probably add my other car too. 1993 Nissan Cefiro 2.0 SE-4 (4wd auto turbo 6cyl petrol) - 22mpg regardless of how I drive it.
Needless to say I drive the Mondeo most of the time0 -

Just bought it - so just reporting what the last owner had on it. The 'instant' mpg is usually about 50-60Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former. - Albert Einstein0 -

If you are going by the trip computer then they are optimistic on the Mondeo. I had a 2.0 TDCi provided as a courtesy car and had the use of it for a week. I did a run up to the Yorkshire Dales and then across to the Lake District and then back home to Hertfordshire. The trip computer was showing an average of 46mpg for the first tankful but when working it out based on how much I put in the true average was just over 39mpg. The second tankful showed as 48mpg on the computer but a real 42mpg."You should know not to believe everything in media & polls by now !"

On a 59 plate Focus 1.6 TDCi Titanium I averaged 58mpg and the OH only got 51mpg driving it. That was with a 60 miles round trip commute on A roads.
I have had the 61 plate Focus 1.6 TDCi Zetec 115 PS for 8 weeks and so far am only getting 52mpg doing the same journey, but the engine is still tight as it has only done 2500 miles.0 -
Passat 1.9 tdi. 49mpg on 30 mile commute (mix roads). Best ever 56mpg on 100 mile motorway trip. Not bad for a big 12 year old car.0
