Aww. Thanks
Yep. I home educate full time so teach whilst OH brings home the bacon
Today was manic as I run a home ed kids club once a month. Aprils theme was 'Titanic' so we did a Titanic Science workshop and a show and tell where the kids acted out a character that they have researched from the Titanic, either passenger or crew member. We were all dressed in Edwardian clothes (including me!)
It was a mad mad busy day as I had to get up extra early to make sure I had tea and pud for my parents afterwards.
They appreciate every tiny thing so it's a pleasure to make things a bit easier for them.:A Every moment is a gift. That's why we call it the present.!:A

I am not sure who wanted my chutney recipe - senior moment!
I have found my cookery book - 1981 - looking for my cookery notebook from back then - yes - mega saddo! :rotfl: I was so thrifty I priced everything I made - 6 hungry children and an ex who drank - mostly worked but getting wages off him before some was lost to booze was a problem.
It will be interesting to see how much the chutney cost me to make back then.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

NSD here.
We had HM garlic seasoned potato wedges with salmon and salad - celery/ cucumber/ grated carrot/ onion/ tomatoes dressed with tarragon vinegar for dinner.
A portion of salad left for Mr F to have as a diuretic tomorrow.
Got some Peri Peri chicken for tomorrow's dinner.
Only 2 days of my April GC left so I am not going to make my target of NSDs but pleased with how I did.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

An extra £30 to update to my signature *the total was £60.01 but I've gone half/half with my housemate). Did an online shop for Mr S for arrival tomorrow using my free delivery code. At least it means I don't need to venture out to the supermarkets today! Not sure what's planned for today in fact...
Got stocked up with toilet paper, chopped tomatoes, breakfast cereal, coffee, rice, couscous, handwash, orange juice and...more meat for the freezer!Grocery Challenge Jan 24 0/300

Hello everyone, I've been lurking here until my payday which was yesterday. Its been a long time waiting and I am so ready to stick to a budget for May. If its okay I'd like to join in and my budget for may will be
300
That should cover food for three adults and a three year old as well as the occational visit by my two bonus sons (step sons). Right now we're in Norway for hubbys work so prices are a bit different here but I will be working in £ but its just to warn you in case you boggle at the food prices!
Last month I went massively over my expected spend but it was Easter and the house was full. I have been tracking my spending for a few months though so know £300 should be okay.
Yesterday I got 4 packs of mince meat for £6.10 a complete bargain for Norway. I then stocked up on various things for the fridge for £23.50. I should have got milk and bread with that but it was mostly veg so I shall have to go out for a restricted spend on fruit, milk and bread later today.
I'll update my signature as I go along in the month. Thanks for all the inspiration - I love all of your enthusiasm! :rotfl:
Finally had my eyes opened and I am ready to tackle my debts!

Morning all, after my shopping trips yesterday morning i have to say i am very peeved about tesc0. they seem to have removed the value cooking bacon, i hope it is coming back rebranded as the everyday value twaddle they are now stocking. At only 74p a pack when i did my shopping list using the online site it was ideal for an old skinflint like me. I added 4 packs on the list. i checked the next day to add something else and it was out of stock. the packs weighed 500g and consisted of offcuts. we could make a breakfast (with other bits) some sandwhiches and bits out of the pack added to various meals. tesc0 still works out cheaper for me, however i have found one closer to us than our usual haunt, but with an ald1 and farmf00ds close to it. My regards to everyone.Grocery Challenge 24th Feb-28 Dec 2012 £2000/£1404

I had a small spend of £3.00 yesterday and a spend of £20.54 today. I will have to get some bits to go in my daughters suitcase for her to nibble on whilst she is away. Will get that tuesday though.
