Q - Gosh, how do I follow JumbleJack's lovely food photo?
A - Dont' try!!!:rotfl:
Well, I have managed a whopping whole week of NSDs, and as a result was really looking forward to visiting Waitr0se this morning as I was at the hairdresser's in the vicinity. They currently have 1/3 off Essentials veges, fruit & salad..so I've been to get this week's supply. I also got a couple of large yoghurts(2 for £2), some wine and a wee bunch of flowers to celebrate losing some weight. Total food spend only being counted here of £8.45 so I'm slightly overbudget but not bad at all. Am happy with my result, and the restraint I've shown this month :T
I did wander around - lots of food reduced (not by loads, but makes it very reasonable), BUT GET THIS, I didn't buy any...though I was sorely tempted! I picked things up, wandered off...wandered back, put it in my basket, reconsidered again. I'm surprised I wasn't arrested! :rotfl:But honestly, I didn't need any of it. I'm generally being very good making meals out of what I have with just a few extra items each week, and intend to keep doing this until I need to restock the freezer properly (at this rate it'll be months!)
I get paid on Tuesday :T, so I'm declaring my April spends complete now. I've been thinking carefully about next month's challenge and wil go back to the budget that includes everything I need - food, cleaning stuff, personal hygiene stuff, cat litter/food, alcohol (of course!), and I'm setting what I hope is a more realistic target of £150 for absolutely everything (Helen - will keep note in my siggy). I did also consider adding diesel into the budget, but on balance I think I'll keep it seperate and keep an eye on it as usual.
Well, the skies have cleared at last (probably only for 5 minutes) so I'm off out for a walk while I can.
Enjoy your Saturday, folks.

Hi all,
We have just had friends over for a picnic lunch to celebrate my birthday (not til Monday!). It was not looking too nice, so we had a floor picnic, then went off for a wander around the woods and the lake by our house. Really cheap, as it was what we'd have eaten anyway, and good exercise/outside air. Now got some other friends coming over for a cuppa, and then we're going to go to a$da for a mooch around the clothes and dvd section, and to get some jacket spuds and salad ready for when my mum and brother visit tomorrow.
If I forget about the observation and interview next week, I'm having a really nice weekend!
So loving the pics of dinners - I must have a go at putting some of mine up, if I do nice meals!

I'm trying to follow your good example of portion sizes (fresh veg/salad =third of the plate!!)
I love seeing other people's pics as it inspires me to try something new.
Well, the house is peaceful (family are at indoor climbing venue to give me a break :J) and I am sitting here in my PJs finishing my sewing so feel quite relaxed.
Will have to get my butt into gear and get tea prepped. I also want to sort out our paperwork as I bought a new filing system as my other one has burst at the seams!!! The new shiny replacement has been sitting waiting patiently for me to transfer everything over for days now. The paper shredder will be struggling when I give it a good sort out!
I'll feel better when it's done and we will be able to reclaim the dining table:A Every moment is a gift. That's why we call it the present.!:A

The sleeve of my eldest's favourite cardigan and my mums nightdress (I noticed that the hem was down when I washed it!).
I make cards too!!!!!!
I have to make a wedding one for this Saturday!
Btw, I don't normally stay in PJs, only when I'm burnt out and need a recuperative day. I REALLY needed today. It is a free National Trust weekend too but I know when enough is enough.
I'm gonna have to get dressed after tea for a little while as I need a couple of provisions so I will go at reduction time. :money::A Every moment is a gift. That's why we call it the present.!:A
