I was planning on walking to Sainsbugs and Ic*land for some Second Purse bits for Sallys Stores, but it is SO wet here, I think I better stay in and make it a NSD instead ;)

Will have usual granola and greek yog for brekkie.

No idea about lunch but I think there is just enough LO tuna mayo for a sarnie.

Tea - well I have YS/whoopsied braising steak in the slow cooker with a jar of Homepride shepherds pie sauce and carrots, peas, sweetcorn etc.

BUT and it's a BIG BUT, no suet or packets of dumpling mix in the house  and in my opinion, anything in a sauce in a slow cooker benefits from light fluffy golden dumplings :rotfl:

Luckily a search found various non-suet dumpling recipes, so will be trying one of them if the weather doesnt dry up.

Had a spend today of £3.96 - going to fall a bit short of my aimed for NSDs this month.
We had roast potatoes, broccoli, carrot, leek and HM sausage pie for dinner.

Tomorrow's meals are all sorted - shouldn't need to spend!

Mmmm. The sausage pie looks nice.
Did you use 'proper' sausages or sausage meat?

I only ask as I have a few packs of finest sausage meat to use up and I am running out of recipes
    Cheers

    Morning all,

Hows your recipe search going? I made dumplings for the first time recently. The recipe I used used sr flour and baking powder. They were sooo light and fluffy :D

Despite the horrible weather - its rainy and windy here - I've a lovely day planned. I'm going into town and after a gentle potter I'm meeting DH for a quick lunch :j
It feels so romantic meeting him in a cafe. We arrive and leave separately - so that's at least 2 kisses :D - It feels wonderful steeling moments out of the working day.
Then I have an afternoon of pampering as I'm having my hair cut and highlights added. For various reasons this is my first trip to the hairdressers this year, so it really is a treat :D

Wishing you all a warm, dry day.

I haven't been keeping track properly, although I have been meal planning better this month. Gutted to have just added everything up and hit £320 this month - £70 over budget.

I am well stocked up though, so if I am careful, I could bring it back on track next month. I blame lack of self control when given a MOC from MrT. I go with the intention of just spending the £40 I need to use the voucher, and end up way over. I have been sent three £5 off £50 online shop vouchers, maybe that is a safer option for me.

Off to hang head in shame.

hi...i went to aldi and got some of the super 6...59p this time which i thought was very reasonable...then disaster...i went into the coop and hit the motherload of reduced food...igot
    sirlion and rump steak
    a free range chicken
    haddock
    croissants x3
    warbutons loaf
    naan bread
    almond fingers
    teacakes
    tzakik
    cottage cheese
    chicken breasts
8 big bag fulls and cost £20...only problem is i didnt have £20 so borrowed it from another budget as thought the bargains were too good to miss...the chicken breasts were reduced to £1 and they had a coupon on for 30p off a cookin sauce...i thought that was a bargain

im off for a sit down now after trying to fit it in the freezer...take care tess

that is a fantastic haul well done, i have chucked away the receipts for £5 off £40 at asd@, i make a list everytime to ensure i only spend £40 and i all ways go over. was planning to visit farmf00ds this week end to use the coupons they offer have decided against that also. a, no room in the freezer to fit what i was planning to buy, b, i will buy the cooking bacon from tesc0 as that will be cheaper than buying 3 packs of frozen bacon, c, the stuff i was planning to buy i have most in freezer anyway. so going to ald1 and tesc0 on friday evening and i am planning to spend no more than £35, wish me luck.
