Just a small spend to report today, £1.30 for a pack of dishwasher salt and treat grandson to one of those things that pick bits up a grabber type thing, though I have told him it is on condition he goes into training as a wombler and brings me all the receipts he can find it was kind of an investment!!!!SPC No. 295 - SPC No10 target £350

Looks scrummy, Im carp at doing pastry it either goes too soggy or too crispy what ratio of flour do you use to fat?
You can't go wrong with one part fat, 2 parts plain flour with water added to turn it into a workable pastry.
Fror the 2 pies I used 1lb of flour, 1/2 lb utterly butterfly with just enough water as described above.
It is a breeze and works perfectly every time. Give it a go
I NEVER work my pastry. As soon as it comes together, it is rolled. Maybe that is where it is letting you down sometimes?:A Every moment is a gift. That's why we call it the present.!:A

2 cheese n onion pies made with a cheesy bacon sauce, mmmmm.
It should do my Dad 2 days so will do something else for him on Friday to take down.
Enjoy your tea too, abitofhelp. I hope to make mine one day with leftover gammon joint. Yum!
Hi jumblejack,
those pies look and sound delicious! would you mind telling us how you make the filling? I made my first pie a few weeks ago (chicken and mushroom) and feel the urge to make another one with a different filling soon.

Thanks for the suggestion about the pressure cooker iQueen - I will definitely investigate. Was just wondering if you get all the flavours melding in like you do when you cook casseroles in oven for several hours? I must admit I just cook everything in the oven and don't think about alternatives - we don't even have a microwave!
I did well with Mr A delivery today - spent £53 for week's shopping (for 4 of us) and had ordered basics range prawns £3.26 for 2 packs. Substitutions for this were 2 packs of posh king prawns and smoked salmon worth £9.98 and they only charged me the original £3.26. Smoked salmon and avocado salad for lunch? - don't mind if I do!! Mind you I had jacket potato and left over chinese takeaway for tea

Hi all.
Seriously having to resist spending every penny that i own on chocolate from Mr T!0 -
NSD gc-wise, but had to buy a hoover.
Had a fab day, really enjoyed myself with the children, and didn't spend a penny doing it! We went exploring over the road. There's a stream to cross over, woods to explore, then a path and a lake with a story bench (or so we call it!).
Just about to do bedtime, then I shall have a brief tidy up and watch some bbt before doing a bit of housework (dusting).
Feeling really good today, and have achieved a lot, both personal, money wise and housewise.
Night all,
