    Hi everyone

Hope you all had a lovely Easter and got some choccy :]

Jarvo28 - Welcome and hi, I'll pop your budget on the first page in a mo - please feel free to ask lots of questions and there'll be someone on here far cleverer than me who will help out - we're a very friendly bunch. Also check out post no1 which has Spiggles excellent bit on it - really helpful

Spiggle - hope you had a great holiday, nice to see you back

FrugalLina - well done on paying that CC off

    Helen x

PS My DH does all the cooking for me and him [we eat a lot later than the kiddies] he works full time and does shifts but he is an excellent batch cook and I'm not - I do everything else. He makes up meals for me for the freezer that I just have to defrost and reheat when he's working late and yes, I do know how lucky I am but . . . he gets lucky in other ways lol!!

  • Hi,
My Mr T's shopping arrived, and it was £52.66, as no rib of beef available, and no innocent OJ. This put me under £50 spend, so I never got my £10 off! GRRR.
However, they did subsitute my cheapo ham joint for a finest one that was £8 dearer, and much heavier, so not too bad. Gonna roast it and slice it for sandwiches, meals etc.
Will update siggi now, and catch up on the posts.
    Sally.

Spent £4.50 today on a few more bits and pieces, needed as I will be cooking for family tomorrow. Otherwise would have managed with what I have in.

Tonight I ate the second half of a lentil shepherd's pie that I made yesterday, and have to say it was absolutely delicious. I think it must have been the celery that I included in the mix that made it so specially nice. Served it with steamed carrots and spring greens tossed in butter.

So my purse has £27.03 left in it for the rest of April. I can do this!
Keeping two cats and myself on a small budget, and enjoying life while we're at it!
  • Well done on paying off your credit cards FrugaLina! :)

This week's spend is £97.02  so that's £178.24/£320 for the month. Need to tighten our belts for the rest of the month to be within budget ;).

Whoops, I haven't been updating this thread as much as I would like and have spent more than I should on things I didn't really need.

Have got a total of £18.28 to add to my total and the only thing that really stands out was a packet of mince. (that is still sitting in my fridge) Was planning on making a chilli then I realised I didn't have any kidney beans! So will need to get those in the next few days.

I'm currently within my budget at the moment, but still have my big shop to do before the end of the week, so that will be at least another £35.

I'm away from the Saturday to the Monday of this week so hopefully this will help bring the budget down, but then the girls are back at school. I think some planning will be in order if I am stay within budget for this month, I really don't want to fail at my first months attempt!

    Had a spend today - £13.91.
Dinner today - I used up a small amount of brown rice with some basmati rice then added garden peas. Served this with pizza and roasted mushrooms - done in balsamic vinegar/sugar/olive oil.

Tomorrow is rump steak - think I will do some HM wedges, baked onion and roast mushrooms - yes - got a few mushrooms to use!
    Plan no spending day.

  • Had two little spends yesterday £1.57 in B*M for two jars of the pizza express sauce and a multibag of crisps and then £1.30 in Asd*. I had two natur*l selection vouchers to use but realised they would result in a 10p underspend so bought a £1 bag of organic flour and then spotted the cheap lemon juice so had two bottles of that. Off to update signature now.
I was off to conquer the world but I got distracted by something sparkly :D
