sounds good Pennygrabber
Lots of 28p tinned beans (haricot/borlotti/black eyed/etc) in Asda. Good variety and cheaper/same cost as cooking my own. Also 20p for lemon juice bottle. I had an hour to kill so had a proper look for once which was prodictive.
Dinner was pasta/tom sauce/halloumi which was good, and I dont like pasta at all.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -

I have a house viewing on friday and another on saturday so i needed some fresh flowers and asdas last so much longer than the other stores. I also had to get fruit and airfreshners.
But that should be it for the rest of the week.
I am just off to update my sig.

Flowers are a great idea for the viewings, also have you considered a couple of pots of herbs for the kitchen.Asdas are only 50p a pot at the moment, andthey have a new one Greek Basil which has a very intense scentSlimming World at target0 -

Had a fab day, really enjoyed myself with the children, and didn't spend a penny doing it! We went exploring over the road. There's a stream to cross over, woods to explore, then a path and a lake with a story bench (or so we call it!).
Just about to do bedtime, then I shall have a brief tidy up and watch some bbt before doing a bit of housework (dusting).
Feeling really good today, and have achieved a lot, both personal, money wise and housewise.
Night all

evening all - jumblejack your pies look great mine were free form on the baking sheets.hope your mum recovers from her op.
the two quiches i made divided into 12 portions, 4 in the fridge 8 in the freezer. the cheese & onion pies i cut into wedges and i think i got 22 slices, but they were big pies, 8 in the fridge the rest i have put in the freezer. if anyone is interested in my shortcrust pastry recipe - 200g plain flour 55g lard 55g butter(i use the best for baking marge), a shake of salt then whizz up in magimix until it looks like bread crumbs and add small amount of water while the blade is still turning(about 2-3 tbls) then it comes together as a nice lump. stick it in the fridge until needed. i have also froze it before now and it defrosted fine. for this mornings session i multiplied by 4.Grocery Challenge 24th Feb-28 Dec 2012 £2000/£1404

Sounds good, uses more fat than mine though,I always use half fat to flour, dripping fromthe joint is particularly good. I also prefer to freeze mine without the water, no need to defrost, just add water and use.Slimming World at target0 -
pastry used to be one of the things i could never make utill i used this recipe, it does make a nice pastry for pies and quiche, the dripping sounds a good idea i havn't tried that before.Grocery Challenge 24th Feb-28 Dec 2012 £2000/£1404

FrugalLina - Well done for clearing your credit card :T:T:T:T
It's a great feeling!!
I hunted everywhere before Easter for a Green and Black's egg for DD2, couldn't find one so I hunted out the ancient Easter egg moulds and made her one from 2 bars of G&B chocolate!!!
Worked out much cheaper than if I had found one in the shops
Had to buy eggs today so I could bake tonight after work, so spent £1.12 on 12 large free range eggs. Made some chocolate cupcakes and made butter icing for the top - half plain 'white' and half chocolate in the piping bag so it comes out mixed and swirlyGoing to have one for supper.... night night

NSD here.
We had HM chilli wedges, baked onions, roast mushrooms and rump steak for dinner. Mr F was 60 years old today - we don't usually eat a lot of red meat. The rump steak was so tender - from Al.. - Mr F had his medium rare - I like mine a tad more cooked.
I think we will have chicken drumsticks tomorrow for dinner with roast potatoes and cabbage. Also got some cauli and gravy that needs using up.
I plan to not spend tomorrow - got enough milk to last.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45
