digital, as Manx says, under current legislation they cannot clamp or tow without adequate warning signs. Neither can they do so in respect of a previous ticket or charge which you haven't paid. It's called "Theft".
But under future legislation, it will be totally illegal anyway.
Why not ring "Colin" and see what he wants? Just so long as it isn't money...0 -
I'm sure he does want money, as I'm probably going to have to pay for the permit to "legally" park there! I reckon I'll either call him and pretend I'm interested in parking there instead of saying I'm the owner of the car you keep ticketing and then question him about the legality of their tickets(I'll wait till Monday to do that I reckon), or I could leave a note on my car in response to his explaining that they have no authority to either ticket, clamp, or tow my car (there are no signs saying they can clamp or tow, I wouldn't have parked there to start with if there was) and politely asking them to refrain from giving me any more tickets... If I do call him and it turns out he's a bit of a thug and threatens me in any way then I will post his number!0

Erm, he'll lie to you. Almost definitely.
He's not likely to tell you upfront that the tickets are completely unenforceable is he?Je Suis Cecil.0 -
Put in your own bluff if the conversation goes that way. Tell him that you have consulted your solicitor and not only has he advised you that the tickets are unenforceable, but that attempts to demand payment with threats are offences under the Harassment Act (its true anyway).
And that he has offered to take your case forward on a no-win, no-fee basis if you get any threats as he's that confident.
No harm in bulling the bullsh*tters.0 -

But how would you have got his number then? Think about it!!
Please don't feel you have to duck & dive here and pretend you are anyone else. I would ring and demand to know why he is leaving notes on your car and how exactly does he think he can clamp or tow a car away without the appropriate SIA licence and clamping fee warning signs in place?
Hide your mobile number by dialling 141 in front of his number. You do NOT want return calls or texts at all hours.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
