Does that mean that technically then, they are not agents of the landowner? If this is the case are they not breaking the law?

I was thinking that on the clamping thread on here, what do you think. ?

They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

I would say that if they act without authority then they are guilty of trespass. Otherwise we could all issue fines in someone else's car park, could we not?

In the link in the approved parking thread, they have been wound up, but the scammer on there says any contracts will transfer to his two other clamping companies. I would assume new contracts signs and so on must be signed and put up ?

The contracts of Parkforce would be an asset so should be under the control of the OR dealing with the winding up.

Or they were transferred to the new company before the old one ceased trading! Most likely!

It's a shame those contracts don't have clauses written in them to prevent them being sold to another company without the landowners permission.

These contracts should die with the company, the OR cannot get much value from them as they are likely a pay the landowner peanuts from each ticket in their nature, so have no marketable value to put into a bankruptcy.

Well, my ticket had a parkforce logo on it so no sign of it moving over to a different name or company. The trouble is I don't know who owns the car park, I don't want to do someone out of their space! Is it a good idea for me to park there all the time or will I end up with loads of tickets I will have to pay?

You will end up with loads of tickets you don't have to pay.
The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life. :)
  • ok, update... it seems they're back in business, the websites back up with no message of "we've stopped our ticketing operations..." and i've now had 3 tickets, the last of which had a proper reference (pcn?) number on it and a little note telling me to call colin on a random mobile number to get a permit.

Should I call him or just keep ignoring?
