Weekly Spend Challenge w/c 25th Mar 12

Hello everyone. Welcome to the Weekly Spend Challenge. This challenge is open to anybody, no matter what financial place they are in.
On this thread please post an amount of money you wish to stay below within the week (Sunday to end of working day on Friday). This can be pennies or thousands it depends on the individual. Then next Saturday report back and pledge for the following week. The challenge runs from Sunday to Friday so we don't include Saturdays but feel free to change the rules to suit you and include Saturdays or start on a different day.
Feel free to update this thread with daily spends if that keeps you on track. We colour code the results as below:
Green - within budget
Red - overbudget
Purple - zero spend
Orange - made money over the week
This is a little bit of fun but for many it highlights the fact that maybe that magazine/chocolate bar isn't needed. Hopefully your spending habits can be changed forever.

Hi everyone
I'm pledging £45 this week. I have approximately £45.51 in total left this month, split between cash and my current a/c - I'd lie not to use all of it but as this week I'll be buying from this any little bits I've forgotton for SA, cigs, any extra grocery items I need...then it may not happen! Usually I have separate budget cigs, makes more sense, but I have run this dry this month!!! Bring on the DF!!! :T Also groceries, I do have food in but need milk and only have about 80p in my grocery budget which won't cover it, also having a craving for fruit and salads now the weather has gone lovely, hence there may be spends there!
On the bright side, I have more than enough petrol!
Oh, and my budget of £45 is only to end of play on Thursday this week. Again, due to SA on Friday, I'll be bound to have miscellaneous spends in the airport etc and as I can't update and have budgeted separately for the holiday, then it's pointless to include here!
Also I just wondered if anyone has seen freebyfifty? She's normally a regular poster but I haven't seen her on the thread last week (not that I've been on there much!). Hope she's ok...
Today I'm going to the mall and then the cinema with mum to see The Hunger Games which I'm looking forward to. She's paying this time and I'll pay next time, I just have to resist the call of the B3n and J3rry's when i'm there!!!
Have a lovely day all
A much perkier LC

I had the same thought LC, she is normally the first poster of the day, and as i tend to pop in here in the morning i had noticed she hadnt been around.
You do seem perkier LC, Glad to see you are feeling brighter, it must help knowing you are getting away for a bit and to SA. You'll have an amazing time.
I am going to set £30 for this week, not sure if i am out for tea, but i have a lunch appt on Tuesday, and catching up with friends on Friday morning. So this should cover it.
And i have to say roll on Friday, its been another long month again. Well this last week to payday is dragging. I guess that is also because i am off for two weeks from Thursday. :j:j
Am off to enjoy whats left of the weekend now.SPC 18 Target £200 /0 -
Hi all
I'm pleased to report a purple £0 spend last week. Mainly due to being overly busy and a bit unwell. I've hurt my neck and can't be bothered with anything much at the moment.
Pledging £10 for next week before I properly ramp up for the hols.
Hope everyone is ok.

Good morning everyone!
Thanks for this week's thread LC! :T
Unfortunately, I had a very spendy Saturday and forgot to budget for a few things that I had to fork out for, so I was red last week with a spend of £110! :eek:This week I promise to be much better and would like to pledge £50!
Sorry to hear that you've been having a rough time LC, lots of (((hugs))) being sent your way! Also I just wondered if anyone has seen freebyfifty? She's normally a regular poster but I haven't seen her on the thread last week (not that I've been on there much!). Hope she's ok...
Looks like she's OK as she's been posting on the NSD thread; she last posted on Sat 24/03/12 with a round up of everyone's scores, so has probably been really busy and/or forgot to post a WSC budget.
zephyr21 - welcome to the thread!
Have a good week everyone and hope you're all enjoying the sunshine, good luck staying within budget!:money: Proud to [STRIKE]be dealing with[/STRIKE] have dealt with my debts! :money:

Thanks ETO, I can't believe it's only 4 days to go now! I am so looking forward to a change of scenery! And thanks for the good wishes chris81418, I have been feeling positively perky yesterday and today! I think a combination of the sun and the tablets kicking in and looking forward to holiday! I've just been confirmed as being off work till I go now so at least I have time to get all my stuff together!chris81418 wrote: »Looks like she's OK as she's been posting on the NSD thread; she last posted on Sat 24/03/12 with a round up of everyone's scores, so has probably been really busy and/or forgot to post a WSC budget.
Thanks for that, good to know she is around!!!
I had a VERY spendy day yesterday, but with bargains too, so here is my round up:
Lidl: Coffee - £1.69
Tesco: Rice Dream, Hardbook A6 notebook for holiday and pens - £4.03
Aldi: Salad items - £2.98
Boots: 2x Nail Varnishes, Mascara, Liquid Eye liner, Meal deal lunch and bottle of water - 95p (due to using MOCs, points and a massive c0*k up by one of the till staff when she gave me a double refund... hehehe)
Asda: Puzzle books for flight - £3 (for 3 books! over 400 puzzles! I have a 19 hour and 21 hour journey!)
HobbyCraft: 3 value packs of assorted beads and some teeny storage boxes - £8.34
Tesco: Sol £5.09
So £26.08 spent yesterday! Not bad actually...

Well i have managed to spend £20 in the last two days, bits and bobs yesterday and £11 on tea this evening.
£10 to last until Saturday, i know it wont happen as i am out for a working lunch tomorrow, so need to fund that. And as a nurse we dont get out often.
Also have a lunch to buy on Fri, but as i have no pennies in my account i am hoping i get paid on fri so i can get some more money out for Fridays lunch. :eek:SPC 18 Target £200 /0 -
