Hi all
Sorry I've been missing in action these last few weeks:o. My spends haven't been too bad but it's time I pulled up my breeches and get back into the challenge and stop spending!!!!:D
I'd like to go for £30 this week as I don't have any real plans coming up to Easter apart from a lot of visits to church:)

Well... Definitely declaring a RED week. Am a little angry at myself as it's only the start of the month and my spending has gone to pot...
Up to Friday (end of) I had spent £57.79/£10.00
(I did buy 24 stamps as the prices are shooting up by 14p in April so saved some money in the long run - but yes - my damage limitation sucks!!!).
I had some family visiting who I haven't seen from Wales and I really wanted to treat them and so I bought us dinner last night which cost £24.00 too! That should come off next week's allowance but I thought - I never see them... it was a surprise visit so not budgeted for in advance... but we had a lovely time!!! Trying to remain guilt free about it :A and made me think I need to include in my budget a pot for un-forseen events like that... not an emergency fund - but a sort of treat fund that I must top up after I use it.... So that's what I will do... Next month
Have a great holiday LC - so sweet of your parents to give you some money!!! I hope you have a great time! Thanks for managing the boards and your support - go have a great time!!!

Hi Zephyr
For me i try and budget for everything i can at the start of the month. This means i know what budget i have for the month on my weekly spends/ treats. I usually have around £80-£100 for the month, so i know this needs to last and try and divide equally unless i know i have a big 'thing' to do/ buy.
i get everything i need grocery wise from the grocery budget. so i dont need to be 'popping' to the shops for anything cos thats where i usually get caught out. I also try and set a realistic budget each week, so i think about what i am doing for the week and work out what i might spend, knowing i have £80 ish to play with.
Hope that makes some sort of sense.
ETO

PS i dont always stay within budget, and have been known to sneak odd things from GC budget.SPC 18 Target £200 /0 -
