wrote to my local mp about esa/atos

I wrote to my local mp about my partners claim for esa, and it being turned down due to the atos medical.
Recieved a letter from him today, saying if he can help with the claim he will, and also that he has passed on my concerns to the Government person, incharge of the DWP, for her to look into how Atos preform.
Maybe a few more people should get their local mp involved, and we may be able to bring ATOS down

I don't know which MP you are talking about, but I think he is living in cuckoo land!!
For a start he cannot interfere with the due process of law. He can get involved if he thinks things have gone wrong.
As for the MP asking IDS to question if ATOS are performing as they should, I can imagine waht the reply will be - 'of course they are'.
Don't get too excited about bringing ATOS down, people have been there and done it to no avail. In fact ATOS is getting MORE involved than ever before!
It's OK to have your 2 mins of hope, but that is about as much as you will get - 2 mins!0 -
OP, don't get to downhearted by some replies. I had a problem, got my MP involved and a decision was reversed and I get an apology from the local NHS. Not got as far as ATOS as (not going further to tempt fate)....0

It's a Computer thing called LIMA a tick box exercise. No wonder there are complaints and GPs are demanding a new system.#TY[/B] Would be Qaulity MSE Challenge Queen.

Ugh.
It's used as a cost cutting exercise rather than really truly help us and true social advancement in socio-economic terms being made.#TY[/B] Would be Qaulity MSE Challenge Queen.

That may have been me! Or possibly one of the thousands of others that have had complaints upheld against ATOS!
It will not change anything!0 -

Do you have a link to that statement please?
Only interested as most GP's that I know accept that they might not like the current system, but worry about what system would replace it. Frying pan into the fire comes to mind!0 -

I thought that ESA was brought in to 'weed' out the many thousands of overstated and dodgy IB claims?
I did have the figures a while ago, something like 29% of IB claimants actually passed to go on the equivalent level of ESA??
Doesn't say much for the honestly of the other 71% of IB claimants who were found not to be as ill or disabled/unfit for work as they hoped they were.0 -

My partner has medical evidence to back up what is wrong with him, although it would appear that actual x-ray reports are not enough for ATOS.
And if everybody took your attitude, quite frankly Hitler would have won the war, and we would all be speaking German now, with many of us in death camps, for the fact our bodies have not become what they should have, due to genetics, and accidents at work.0
