There is no moral dilemma.
She is stealing from every taxpayer. You may not like it, but by concealing the truth, and taking money that she has no right to claim, she is not only a cheat, liar and thief, but she has shown that by ignoring your pleadings - she has no respect for you either.
Shop her.Nothing is foolproof, as fools are so ingenious!0 -

I don't either. I agree she shouldn't be grassed up. But i don't think she should be actively encouraged to cheat the system.0 -

Yep Orville I will keep my nose out, I was just seeking advice on the matter as I know sooner or later the poop will hit the fan and I thought it would be better sooner rather than later.
This alone will ring alarm bells if they've sanctioned her and she hasn't even appealed it on the basis of an 8 month old baby, she's probably already being investigated.
I hope she is, its downright disgusting but I can see the dilemma you're in."You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0 -

If I had warned them, and they simply ignored me? Undoubtedly, yes.
And what's more, they know that as well.Nothing is foolproof, as fools are so ingenious!0 -

I was going to say exactly the same, she probably is being investigated as they will be thinking how is she managing on that amount of money also if she has a young baby is there really not someone on the seen.0 -

This WILL happen no matter what, it is just a question of time, but it WILL happen. You (and then her) need to accept that she IS already in big trouble because she will definitely get caught one day. What is left is to salvage the damage, and the only way to do so is by her calling them NOW.
You need to give her an ultmatum now, if she doesn't do it, you will....but do remember that you will be doing her a favour because the quicker she comes clean, the less she will need to repay, the less chance she has to be prosecuted.
If it is a case of her believing she won't get caught, then do some research on the net (starting with this thread) and show her that all the evidence is there that she will get caught, even if she tells no-one because of random checks.
She then needs to realise that she will much worse off by leaving it longer.
Don't fall for her plea that they wouldn't cope otherwise. How do other similar family cope? It sounds like in all likelyhood, she is living over her means and that is why she needs the extra money, so maybe you could help her with her budget, do an soa and see where she is going wrong.
What she is doing is very wrong but most importantly, is going to have a massive impact on her and her family. If she prepared to lose everything, her partner, her children if she ends up in jail because she has been cheating the system for many years (assuming it takes years for her to get caught?)0
