    Hi Everyone
I have been Flying for a while now but had not seen this thread. The other day I posted a new thread on OS and someone suggested that I post it on this one ( I have not named you in case you get death threats). So apologies if you've seen it before and apologies again if it makes you do something you'd rather not. I have also included my update and have yet to be taken up on my challenge. LOL.

"I can't believe I'm posting this but here goes!!

    Cleaning the toilet.
I am a Flylady so swish and swipe the loo everyday and give it as I thought a real good clean at least twice per week using well known heavy chemicals which tell you to spray it around the rim, leave a certain length of time and then brush round to clear away limescale and almost all household germs!!

Yesterday & don't ask me why. I mean why would anyone do this? I got my little compact mirror and had a look under said rim after I had just applied the chemicals. I thought I had applied it well, completely covering the rim and quite a quantity too. What I saw astonished me, dirty dirt that wasn't even touched by the chemicals or the subsequent vigorous brushing YUK!!! So today I thought I'd get it clean so I have been on my knees with a long rubber glove and a well known brand of wire pink soaped pad scrubbing away with my little mirror as my companion and I still can't get it all off, my arm is hurting and I think it's going to take 3 or 4 goes. Next time I'm going to get the heavy chemicals out again and apply it with a cloth or sponge - no more spraying for me.

MY CHALLENGE TO YOU IS......HAVE A LOOK UNDER YOUR RIM (or is it only me)AND REPORT BACK WHAT YOU FIND. Happy days."

    My Update:

Yes I should get out more, I do hate lots of chemicals and had just bought a large 5 ltr bottle of vinegar, cheap cola and 3kg Bi -Carb. I think that the reason I looked was because I do want to change from heavy chemicals but wanted to be sure that "better" chems would do a good job too & found that the heavy chems were not doing a good job!!
Anyway - 1 loo is now limescale free as far as I can see anyway and I wouldn't be ashamed of it if it was sitting in a skip outside my house (have you seen the state of some of them) and I just have 1 more loo to do. I hated cleaning it but afterwards I felt very satisfied at the good job I had done.
BUT I did dream of scrubbing the loo.LOL.

VERY INTERESTING....NO ONE HAS TAKEN UP MY CHALLENGE!!!

also WHO is Anthea Turner ??

    (Just kidding)

    LOL

  • Can't believe it - all done! Worked from home today so managed to do a few things in between work - rather than procrastinating.

Got a lovely bunch of flowers from DD - she said the house was looking so lovely that she thought I deserved flowers :D She said she is going to have a go at some of the things on her flying list when she gets back from babysitting later. Long may the transformed household continue!

So what have I achieved today?

    Masterbedroom
Change bedding - did last Friday and don't think it's so dirty it needs doing again!
    Hoover floor
Tidy under that bed -got drawers under bed which were sorted recently
    [STRIKE]Dust[/STRIKE][STRIKE]Tidy away anything that isn't in it's proper place[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Hoover Hallway / stairs /landing[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]clean skirting boards[/STRIKE]

    My own list:
    [*][STRIKE]Sort out jewellery boxes/containers in bedroom[/STRIKE]
[*][STRIKE]WM/DW[/STRIKE]- set to come on at 10.30 when cheap electricity kicks in
[*][STRIKE]Finish sorting papers in living room (will get there in the end![/STRIKE])can't believe I got this done - great feeling
    [*][STRIKE]create flying list for DD[/STRIKE][/LIST]

Also did another load of shredding after sorting papers, and put out in recycling box
Managed a trip to the gym
Sorted 3 shevles in my wardrobe as no underbed to sort

Now looking forward to tomorrow's list - can't imagine what's on it as my rooms are now sparkling and tidy.

Whatever the list, my additions will be:

Take cardboard to recycling (doesn't get collected)
    gym
    mystery shop
    work!
    sort magazine pile
    2 more shelves in wardrobe
sort payslips etc to send off for new bank account

Better not put anything more on my list in case Moggins list is a time consuming one!
Proud to be dealing with my debts

Yikes  I dare not.........it will need alot of courage, maybe next week :o

There is a rim around the base of the shower cubicle that gets scrubbed with an old toothbrush and that's bad enough - where I am is a very hard water area so the lime scale builds up rapidly and is a real problem.

I have done most of my jobs for today - just waiting for the TD and DW to finish so I can empty them. Remembered to post the littlies passport applications which I've been meaning to do for days - £34 each for 5 years!

    Master Bedroom/Hallway/Stairs/Landing

    1. Change bedding.. AGAIN!!! do you think we practice hygiene or something?? My husband would think I'd been sleeping with someone else in there if I washed the sheets this often!!
    2. Hoover floor
    3. [STRIKE]Tidy under that bed[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]Tidy already![/STRIKE]
    4. [STRIKE]Dust[/STRIKE].. yes I have some of that!
    5. Tidy away anything that isn't in it's proper place

Hoover Hallway and clean skirting boards
Hoover stairs and shift all the stuff off the stairs that needs to be put away. Clean skirting boards up the stairs
Clean and tidy landing and dust that bookcase on the landing (that ones for me if you are wondering) Hoover landing.

    WM
    TD
    [STRIKE]DW[/STRIKE]
    BM
[STRIKE]fold and put away dry stuff[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]27 thing fling[/STRIKE] in front room
[STRIKE]clear boys room[/STRIKE] so the electrician doesn't think we are total scrotes

    Have a great day.. xxxxxxx

    I am ashamed!!!

I have done barely anything all week again.. I think I am slowly slipping back into my old naughty ways.. someone needs to kick me up the rear!!

I have flirted incorrigibly with the plumber (yes the same one) I am SUCH a tart, but at least I know this and can handle it. I do wonder sometimes what I would do if they actually offered to go further.. probably scream and run away knowing me lol. anyway, he didn't scream and run away at the thought of more work in the future so it can't all be bad.. and he was probably worse than I was.. probably, lol. Besides I might steal him, he buys his other half flowers.. I got 2 toilet seats today.. and who says romance is dead? (seats bought with my lightspeed argos voucher!)

The electrician (who kept me yapping for half an hour about light switches and sockets!) has made loads of mess and not cleaned very much of it up.. the new loo is black and the bathroom sink is too. My old loo the floor is filthy, my lanfings and the boys room are covered in plaster and soot and loft muck.. most unpleasant and I need to get that cleaned up soonish.

DS2 is at the paed tomorrow morning so I will get very little done then *sigh* I might just send DH with him actually.. he complains when he has to sit at home with the baby and do nothing.. I'll think about that one.

I may just go to pub with my mother seeing as his fatship is putting the new loo seats on.. *grin*

    Beer anyone???
