Have decided to go solo for the time (i.e) not weigh/go to class but in a few weeks, I will start weighing again - probably in Boots. I can't make up my mind however what day is best to weigh? Thoughts??

Oh and while I'm posting - I know i haven't posted in ages and I don't mean to butt in but we are over 5000 posts now - do peeps agree we need a new thread??? (I think the forum bods don't like threads over 5000 posts as it slows the servers down?

    Morning all

Stef - I use the mullerlight greek yoghurt (coconut) in curries all the time and it's v good. They come in packs of 4. HTH

I was round at my friend's for a girls wine night catch up last night along with 6 others. I decided to take control and try to be good seeing as I would really like a good WI in the morning as I missed last week. We all usually take food and wine so I made SW chiili wedges, SW humous and chopped up carrots & celery! Drinkwise I took a mini bottle of red wine (187 ml), 1 litre bottle of flavoured fizzy water & 2 cans of diet cherry coke. On top of that I had 3 mugs of black coffee at the end of the night! I have to say that it is a complete revelation staying sober at a girls wine night  - the downside was I was up and down piddling all night with the amount of fluid I drank.

I am so pleased that I managed to stick to it last night if I hadn't been a pig on Wed night and had that half portion of chips and a crispy cake I would have gone last night and guzzled the red wine and ended up with weakened resolve and eaten all the goodies there was on offer.

I had a 4 mile stomp yesterday but don't know if I have the inclination to get off my butt for a walk today - I might go out and do a bit of gardening instead.

Have a nice day everyone. x

I have had an alcohol free weekend. usually Friday has to mean booze and lots of it ! (well it used to - now its a sniff of red wine and I'm asleep!!) I don't miss the hangovers or eating rubbish that follows the day after. I have friends on fb who post about their evenings out and their hangovers ... while I remain :A :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: but hey I feel much happier for it :T and it saves on the syns too :T

oh and how interesting it is when its recycling day and you walk down the street and see just what everyone has been drinking by the amount of bottles/cans out waiting to be collected!
  • Ok, so I really need to get back on my slimming world wagon!! Ive gained so much weight back, but I am going to do it on my own from home as I don't seem to gain much from going to classes. Does anyone else here do it from home?

I'm sure you're right FE. I think sometimes huge, unweildy threads put off new posters too. Would you be able to start one?

On the 'when to weigh' quesion: I don't think it really matters as long as it's about the same time every week and wearing much the same clothes. Would you have to make a special trip to Boots or would it be on a work day? If you're having some weeks away from class, why don't you try and post here more regularly (certainly helps to keep me on the straight and narrow;))?

Well done kandfsmum, your restraint really made up for the chips and krispies:T Totally agree about the wine. I really love my wine syns but it is risky as resolve is weakened and it would be so easy to eat rubbish late at night.

I think I may have gained a little since last WI (10 days) but I probably needed too (cheated a bit by wearing shoes and cardi as i was out of target range). My basic menu is all planned around SW but I do allow myself off-plan meals out and there have been rather a lot of those lately. This week is looking fairly quiet though and after today's roast, most meals are fairly low syn/free.

Ammonite, I'm not sure that the mushrooms were quite enough for your SFs with the macaroni cheese. That maybe because I try to be as generous as possible with veg. I might have had a salad or green veg with it or perhaps some tomatoes sliced on top or baked alongside. I often add sliced tomatoes to pasta bake type things as I think it brightens them up and all extra SF is good!:)

can you not weigh on the same time and day as your SW class? if not just pick any, its likely that the first different scales and time/day will throw off what you were on before so as long as you have one week to "set" your new WI time, after that it shouldn't matter.

we prob do need a new thread, hadn't realised this one has got so big!

Theres a voucher for new membership in this weeks Woman magazine so only weekly subs to pay.

Found the mullerlights now so can see about finding the recipe out to give it a bash.

Hubby brought me brekkie in bed this morning off 2 fry lighted eggs, beans, toms, mushrooms and a wm roll. Just thinking what to have now for lunch although i have been dipping into a bag of grapes that were purchased minutes before. Tea is a 'roast' beef dinner, with broccoli, carrots and 'roasted' beetroot.

Went to tesco earlier and managed to fill the freezer with reduced diced chicken, skinless & boneless thighs, minced turkey and diced pork so got there at the right time today. All meals are planned for this week and with the shopping done today the rest of the week should also be spend free.

Hope you all manage to get out and enjoy the last of the sun today before it turns nasty again tomorrow.
