It is similar in a way, but unlike WW where you have to point everything, a lot of basic foods are 'free' on SW and some are counted as limited healthy extras (varies depending on which form of the plan you are following). Syns are more for treats and extras that aren't free. For example, on extra easy, which is the main plan nowadays, you can have as much fruit, veg, lean meat, fish, pasta, potatoes, rice, pulses etc as you want, then a measured allowance of bread or cereal and milk or cheese, then you get 5-15 syns a day to use on any extras. This can be chocolate, alcohol, sauces, or anything you like really. Something like a KitKat would be 5.5 syns. The leader will explain all this to you when you go- sounds complicated but it's easy when you get used to it!
Yep, I love the fact that you can have 'normal food', and as much as you like!
Groovy! The more i hear the more intrigued I am so I'm definitely going to go along next week! Thanks!0 -

D - mustard chicken (0.5 syns) baked potato (B) and veg.

Other A to be used as milk in tea and coffee.
Have a good day all xThe frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -
Afternoon all,
Just popped on to say I have discovered the wonder that is Asda Chickpea Dahl - OMG, it is lovely, quite a nip to it and FREEEEE! It's handy just have a tin of something in the cupboard for when you're running late and starving hungry... would be nice with a baked tattie or rice too but I just had it on it's own then wiped the bowl with a ryvita - yes I am a pig!Mortgage Aug 22 £280,000
Current mortgage £28,0000 -

hi there, 9
hectic few weeks,
got my 6.5 stones award, and have been voted my group woman of the year, tho have since gained 2lb so only have 6 stone 5 off now
got thru to district finals, its this sunday...anyone know what to expect...
nerves are kicking in, i am sure i will go no further as my loss is tiny compared to previous winners, i know its not a biggest looser comp, but most of the previous winners have had a lot bigger losses than mine,
am happy enough to get to distric final tho,
how is everyone?
Lovely to have you back piglet and what fantastic news!!:T
1940sgal I think it is worth going to class. We've had discussions on here on how useful they are/are not but whatever happens you have the books.

Well surprise surprise I've lost 1.5lb this week which I'm happy about. When I look at it in kilos it's not much and that's what my scales are measured in but I immediately converted it and I'm happy. I've realised I've got to get the kilo numbers out of my head because I'd be really happy if I could lose 1lb a week.Morning,
Piglet - you are such an inspiration, can't see why you shouldn't go any further!
Also well done to Stef, Jay and especially Med Mum - fab losses! :j
Kjm - hope your tooth (or lack of) is feeling better today
Thank you. It's true I am organised but any confidence shown on here is unrepresentative of what I'm really like, lol! I am psyching myself up to apply but need to get someone to give me some training in a particular technique first; when she gets back from holiday I will decide properly.
Don't worry. the classes are always friendly and welcoming. I'm pretty shy and I went on my own, which was a bit scary, but now there are a few ladies I always sit with and everyone chats to everyone else. I think you can sit in on a class once without paying so give it a try and see what you think
Went slightly over syns last nighthad to do some shopping after work and already had tea made and ready to heat but was starving when I got in and had to wait for OH to feed the cats before I could do the tea, so ended up eating a packet of french fries, a piece of cheese and a pitta bread over what I should have had. not the end of the world and going to do some walking over the weekend but I am slightly annoyed with myself. Anyway, green today, and going to try and keep the syns down:
B: Bran flakes (B), milk (A), banana
L: Mugshot, strawberries
T: Egg, chips, beans
S: 2 x alpen light (B), Kit Kat (5.5), pineapple
Have a good day and weekend all
thanks guys, yes MM, i did the fashion show back in may, i just could not fathom that it was me in the photos when i seen them back,
i still imagine myself looking the same as i did 6.5 stones ago, so it just did not seem real that this was me, all dolled up, size 12 dress,
i cant see me going any further because even though its not meant to be a biggest looser contest, if you look back over previous years winners, they will all have massive losses, anything between ten and twenty stones, so my 6.5 stone loss really doesnt stand a chance for the next round, tho i am down to the last 29 in northern ireland, so it was great to get this far,0 -

:T good for you evilsquid. It's strange how losses are such an individual thing. I know my journey to target averaged between 1 - 1.5lbs a week BUT it certainly wasn't a standard loss every week. Yes, there were explained gains like holidays but there were other weeks when I gained/STS for no apparent reason and others where I had a good loss when I hadn't done anything out of the ordinary. I think I tended to lose in a 2 week cycle quite a lot too. I'm a great believer in that what you eat/drink catches up with you in the end both good and bad. So those people who boast that they've lost and had a huge night out won't get away with it long term. But similarly if you're good that'll catch up too!0 -
Had a lovely stroll around a local city yesterday with hubby soaking up the september sun and buying a few more bits for the garden.
Had an ok day food wise, breakfast was an apple and a banana - found that cutting bananas out of my diet have been making my RLS worse so they have had to come back in. Lunch was a 'fry up' in a local cafe, it werent 100% SW friendly but certainly werent swimming in grease either, swapped my sausage with hubby for his pile of toms to up the SFs. Tea was chicken filled with Laughing cow EL wrapped in bacon with rice, sweetcorna and peas followed by a fruit salad.
Today back on track 100% had ML and banana brekkie, mushrooms, toms and egg for lunch and later on HM burgers, wedges and salad.
Hope everyone enjoys this sun whilst it lasts!:j Was married 2nd october 2009 to the most wonderful man possible:j
