Just bought the Shred DVD, have any of you got it/tried it?

I 'do' Jillian every morning, started on level 1 then had to stop for a few weeks as I injured my back!

Started again last week on level 2, its hard but my endurance is getting better, I am not moving onto level 3 until I feel comfortable with level 2 ie. can complete the full workout without doing the beginners stuff (squat thrusts & squat jacks, I can only do 1 set of each then I have to do the easy ones) :rotfl:. As I have only properly started again last week, I can't say I have noticed a difference as yet but its only day 7 (I think)

Fantastic losses on here - well done everyone.

Medmum - you didn't exactly go off the rails now did you, you are still doing fab!

    Todays EE Plan
Been up since 5am so starving now
B - 1/2 melon filled with frozen berries, strawberries, pineapple & FF nat yogurt
L - WM Pitta (b) with salad, chicken, pineapple, strawberries; nectarine
D - Mexican bake (A) with cauliflower & brocolli on side

Hoping for a loss tomorrow or I will be :mad: as I have worked hard at it this week

I always remember years ago I was in a health food shop with my son and he said the dried figs looked like dog's bums:eek: Well done on all the losses everyone.

We're talking about fresh ones here and they are free. The dried ones are 2.5 syns each!

I just told a work colleague about the body fat & he said no way and thought it was a bit extreme as it means i'd be around 6 stone if i lost around half my body weight. I wonder what the body fat machine goes off then?

Presumably it was measured by conductivity/resistance? I'm not sure how accurate those things are. I would have thought it was % by volume and other body parts weight more than fat which would distort it etc etc but a quick google tells me it's by weight. Still, if 'normal' BF is around 25-30% and yours is 42% you wouldn't have to lose as much as you thought to fall into that bracket.

May be completely wrong here but will ask OH tonight and see if he knows any more about it - let's see if his PhD in obesity biochemistry is of any real use ;)

SO my question is, what other recipes are good for batch cooking? ANyone got any failsafes that see them through the week?

Things like bolognaise sauce, curries, chilli. For complete meals you can easily freeze lasagne (although I tend to make fresh using the previously frozen bolognaise sauce). Roast dinners can be plated up and frozen (these are great if you do them on paper plates and then take into work frozen as they'll be defrosted by lunchtime and you can just reheat so they taste fresh).

Quiches freeze really well, just defrost and serve with a salad or reheat and serve with SW chips & baked beans.

Not sure if you're a veggie, Sarah, but I'd certainly second mm's idea of making a big stew. Any soup is good for lunches or filling starters. I'd also suggest chilli and curry. I freeze mine so that I've always got a HM ready meal for when I'm short of time or just feeling lazy. I'm also a big fan of stir fry. You can use frozen veg if you haven't got time for prepping. I always feel really virtuous having a massive plate of SFs!:D

Well done on uploading the figs picture mm, I keep meaning to learn.:o

I know we spend a lot of time on here helping each other through the difficult times but there are also great losses.:T everyone!

I'm hoping today is going to be my first 100% on plan syn free day for a while:

    EE menu:
B: baked beans, fried egg, mushrooms, fried potatoes, HEB toast, HEA milk for teas
L: I'm grazing:) I've had a slice of ham and some grapes already and might have a jacket with cottage cheese later or maybe just the cheese with an apple. depends how hungry I feel.
D: spaghetti bolognese (I've got a teatime meeting so this'll be easy and quick when I get back).
    Syns: none planned
  • Maman - follow RFD's instructions - I might start uploading pics of my food - she'll regret telling me how!!!!

    D. Chicken, mash, carrots, swede, green beans & YP & gravy 5syns
