RFD -my thoughts are with you. Such sad and distressing news for you and your family.
You say you need to 'be strong for your family', but please, please take care of yourself too. Part of 'been strong' is making sure you are fit and well and able to be there.
I too am on my own, I'm an only child and have also had some very distressing news today (mum has been diagnosed with breast cancer). I find the best way to keep track of my own thoughts is to write my feelings down. Seems like nothing while your doing it - but boy does it help me.
You just sometimes need that outlett for your emotions where nobody will judge you and you dont have the worry of upsetting/ stressing anyone - a bit like coming on here.
Have a safe filght.
Sorry Scrappie, I missed your post, I wasn't being intentionally rude. I'm really sorry to hear your news, I hope you and your mum are ok. I had breast cancer a few years back, I had my last radiotherapy on 7th March 2008 and all is well, fingers crossed it is the same for your mum.Slimming World - 3 stone 8 1/2lbs in 7 months and now at target :j0 -
Thanks for your comments guys - it truely means a lot, and you don't even know me........ just how nice are you lot?? !
kjmtidea - thanks, glad to hear that things are good for you. It's great to hear posiive stories.
Well, I didn't let the news earlier on in the day stop me from goin to group, did so, got WI, had mild heart failure and sat down and gave myself a stern talking too!
Earlier in the afternoon I had decided no to go, as I'm taking mum away for a few days at the weekend (before surgery/ treatment) so will be 'given' my food. We are staying with family who don't cook - everything cmes from M&S whinch is very nice, just not what I'm looking for right now:o
Queue another stern talking too - got my backside into gear and went. If I didn't start tonight I would always have an excuse 'why not to go' with all tha tis to follow in the coming weeks.
Came home had H/M chicken kebabs with salad and garlic yoghurt. Bigh bowl of fruit for afters. Also made BBQ sauce, ready for hunters chicken tomoro I think.
Going to read my books tonight and do a small shop tomoro, picking up the bits I forgot to get today.
Hope that everyone else is well.
