Well my Glossybox didn't arrive and wasn't even showing on my account despite it being "active" so I rung GB and they apologised and said they would send one out straight away which arrived this morning (so a big well done to GB!) I'd read all the blogs and reviews and had mixed feelings about the boxes but this is what I got in mine:
The Glossybox brush
Yves Rocher Mascara
BM Beauty Bronzer
Dermalogica Clean Start Kit
Vichy Dermablend Sample Kit
Overall what I recevied was pretty good value though I doubt very much the brush is worth £15!!!
I'm not sure whether the Dermalogica is really suitable for my dry skin but would make a nice gift.
Em xXx
I would advise that you do a patch test with the Dermalogica stuff. Having worked in industry and experienced it as both a therapist and a client I really cannot stand the stuff. It makes my skin feel revolting and brings me out in spotty hives. My aunt (a fully trained therapist) feels the same as do several other head therapists I've worked with so I'd just make sure that you check it's not going to cause you problems before slathering it all over your face.
Sorry to poo poo the brand if others get on really well with it - we're all different but I have naturally dry skin so if you're a similar skin type to me then just be careful before first use :-) x

Thank you - too be honest it's really not suited to my skin type so I've stuck it on eBay!!

I couldn't do without my Tweezermans - took me a LONG time to invest in them as they seem very expensive but if I were to add up all the cheapie brands bought over the years it has definitely been a sound investment! And will save me money in the long term :jMissli, the second brand that you mentioned ;-) are well worth investing in. What I would suggest is finding a generous friend who works in industry and has a beauty supplies trade card and getting them to get them for you at trade price and paying them back.
I have a trade card because I'm a trained manicurist and it saves me so much money with Argan Oil and tools / accessories :-) x
I think I will invest in a pair, as the current ones I use are carp. Boots often have reductions, so perhaps might be a starting point.New forum. New sig. Yes I still need to lose 2 stone!0 -
I've been using the Balance Me hand cream the last few days and absolutely love it, is the rest of the range as good does anyone know?
I love it too, especially last thing at night before going to sleep so you wake up with lovely soft hands. Mind you, you'll soon be breastfeeding so you'll have more than just cracked hands to deal with:rotfl:
I like Balance Me products on the whole. I've picked up various ones in sales and as freebies with magazines and they're pretty good value but not cheap. I'll give you my personal opinion below with links to the offical site but, as always, shop around and try to find them cheaper. Balance Me has FREE P&P this weekend (22-25 June).
Rose Otto Body Wash lovely, skin-softening and smells like turkish delight- for me, it isn't quite as nice as the REN rose otto wash BUT it is much better value for money. Big thumbs up
Super Toning Body Wash; I really love the smell of this one because it wakes me up and is uplifting. It is supposed to help tone your skin but I'd need a full-body lift to tone mine so can't comment regarding that! Leaves skin soft, smooth and feeling really fresh and is cheaper than the rose one. I will definitely buy this one again in future
Super Moisturising body wash; I'm not sure about this one. It does leave skin soft but there is something about the smell that I'm not keen on. It might be the patchouli. It smells nice and I'm happy to use up the rest of the bottle but it isn't my favourite scent ever.
Wonder Eye Cream; got this in a beauty box and I really like it because it is rich but it absorbs easily. Can't tell you if it works because I didn't take it on hols and haven't used it since I got home (I'm currently battling post-sun spots and rash) BUT it did seem to have a plumping effect on my saggy eye bags when I used it.
Rose Otto Intensive lip salve; I LOVE this. It is glossy and shiny and moisturising and tastes lovely. Leaves lips soft and plump and is just brilliant for me. Not brilliant under a lipstick as it is a wee bit too too slippy. Equally it won't suit those people who only like the solid waxy sticks as this is a creamy consistency. You can apply a little bit for protection and moisture or slather on loads for a "lip masque" which is great after being out in the wind. Highly recommended.
I have a sample size of the face cream to try but I haven't opened it yet because I've got so many creams on the go right now and I was to use them up.
Also, if anyone was impressed with the Lavera Basis Sensitiv All-Round Moisturiser from the Amarya box (I am dangerously in love with the smell of it) then you might be interested to know that Holland and Barrett currently have it on offer AND have FREE P&P (ending 27th June). It is £6.75 per tub or two tubs for £10.12 ( again, I'm thinking about cracked nipples here ) and that seems to be the best offer on it at the moment CLICKY LINK
H&B also sell the great-value Laidbare range so if anyone was thinking about trying an SLS-free face wash, now is a good time. I highly recommend the DIY Two In One Cleanser and Toner - I use this and it's great. I have used some ridiculously expensive natural face washes (I won an Ananne cleanser costing £55 and an Ananne exfoliator that cost £80) but I still come back to this budget one every time because it works and it is affordable. Currently £5.99 each or two bottles for £8.98. The eye cream is also really quite good at temporarily tightening the skin - I've used it all over my face before make-up to give me a firmer skin effect.
I'm not going to go for the You Box because I already have the Balance Me face cream so I'd really only be buying it for the Melvita sample, which doesn't make it worth the money for me

Just found this thread on the boards. You can get a sample of the Kimia Rejuvenating System for £1.99 (prodcut is free, you pay p&p). Might be interesting for anyone who has heard of it but didn't want to fork out for it. CLICKY LINK
I've got the whole system - rejuvenating kit, lip serum, eye serum and neck serum. RRP £231  - BUT ebay price £25 inc p&p for the lot! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

There is a very well-known brand that I've been looking at instead Tweezerman, but they are so expensive!
Can highly recommend Tweezerman as an investment item. I bought mine in 1998, have used them every day since and they have not needed regrinding/sharpening. Amazing. Only thing is, on the rare day I've used normal tweezers since, feels like I am using chopsticks to pull hairs out :-P0 -

I saw that yesterday but was sceptical. I have just ordered following your recomendation, as sounds a great product, and a bargain way to try.
The latest in beauty box looks great, but will give a miss, I have had a lot of great stuff in my Betrousse box, and still have Jolie, and Lux to come, plus Amarya at the month end. So have a lot of products. Lux haven't taken payment yet, although keep checking Paypal.
I was going to cut back to 2 monthly boxes (plus paid-for SSB), but this months Jolie-box looks lovely from sneaky peeks I've had. It was supposed to be a one-off! I will try.New forum. New sig. Yes I still need to lose 2 stone!0 -

A product I got in my Betrousse kit does similar (apparently). Its worth £31 for 14ml anyway. I'm thinking of ordering another organic & natural box as was really good value.
No Jolie box for me either.New forum. New sig. Yes I still need to lose 2 stone!0
