Feel Unique are bringing their box back? How weird, they only stopped it a few months ago!
I hope it's as good as it was before, really liked how it had very little makeup and they only used decent brands. I like Amarya for that reason too.
If you go to: http://www.feelunique.com/beautybox/
it explains, it might not be the same as last time, hard to tell. I never got the chance to try it but heard great things so will see what they bring out. Apparently it will probably be May before we hear anything.0 -
I've just received my Amarya Beauty Box today. It had a full-sized Argan Oil (50ml) in it which usually retails at £21, plus a couple of sample sachets, which I shall use when travelling. Evolve organic Beauty Protein Build Conditioner (dry/damaged hair), and Jurlique Soothing foaming cleanser (sensitive skin).
I'm happy with what I've received. This looks like an alternative to Bio-Oil which I've currently been using to reduce a scar I have, and to soothe skin. It will be interesting to see how this compares. Its obviously different as is Argan Oil. It sounds intriguing after doing an online search, so am happy to try this for £10 delivered.
Its good for lines/wrinkles (I haven't got any!), Scars, Stretch Marks, Acne, Age Spots, Psoriasis & Eczema, Dry/Frizzy/Damaged hair, so looks a good all-rounder.
The Amarya box is a definite keeper for me. I'm not sure if others will get the same, but I'm happy as suits me, as my skin/hair can be a little sensitive/dry.
Now to see what Glossybox comes up with.Oh well...

Rose80 - thanks for the update re:FB. I couldn't get on to MSE at all last night for some reason and I totally missed the FB reply too :rotfl: I've updated the OP now with the details
AMARYA box came today! Argan oil! A mixed blessing for me - I adore argan oil and use it every day on my skin, hair and ingested as a skin supplement.... I also cook with it.
I have so much argan oil in my house you wouldn't believe it! I am obsessed with the stuff and rave about it to everyone.
Most of mine comes direct from a womens' cooperative outside Essaoiura where the women who do the backbreaking work of producing the oil also actually get the monetary rewards from it.
I do have reservations about the amount of Argan oil being used in Western products such as L'Oreal, Moroccanoil, Simply Argan, Fushi etc etc because I fear that the impact of big business will really put the squeeze on small Argan producers.
Anyway, back to business - the Simply Argan in the Amarya box is very, very pure. It doesn't have the sweet, nutty scent of oil that is less refined and purified and it is incredibly pale in colour in comparison.
I also find it a little more greasy and less quickly absorbed that oil that is less pure. This is actually probably a GOOD thing as it means there are more essential fatty acids per ml in the Simply Argan and you need to use less.

Glad to hear a good review about it. Its always a deciding factor for me when trying new things. It does look wonderful. Cook with it? That sounds interesting.Oh well...

argan oil for eating is the most delicious thing in the world. You add it during or after cooking soups, stews, tagines etc rather than frying/roasting with it and you can use it drizzled over veggies or salads. Fabulous on new potatoes instead of butter.
The BEST use is to make amlou which is argan oil, ground almonds and honey (with optional orange flower water/spices). Spread it on bread or eat it with a spoon if you really want to overdose in yumminess.
I suggest looking up info on argan oil for culinary purposes because it is pretty much the best oil around - good for your heart, skin, brain, reducing inflammation in arthritis, helping eczema and psoriasis etc.
"argan oil contains a high level of anti-oxidants, essential fatty acids composed of oleic and linoleic acids, and an extraordinary combination of rare plant sterols, all vital components for healthy skin, renal function, nerve healing, and lower cholesterol. Also, the high level of tocopherals (Vitamin E), which is three times that of organic olive oil, further enhances the benefits of argan"
Can you tell I am mad about Morocco and Moroccan cuisine?:rotfl: I'll be in Marrakech in 38 days and I can't wait!
