I had a lot of problems with luxbox. They did not send boxes out and banned me from their Facebook page because I asked where my box was even though the box was weeks late. Eventually I opened a dispute with PayPal and got a refund but other people were not so lucky to get their money back.

Same here. I eventually had to open a dispute as well, to get the money back for two boxes I never received.

Has anyone tried a Boxdelux gifting box? Thinking about potentially buying one for Christmas for my sister, but just wondered if anyone has tried one?

I brought one just after they merged with Luxbox - it took almost a month to arrive and then the content was left over from previous boxes when I asked them about this on twitter I was told the box was a taster to ex 'Luxbox' subscribers to give them an example of the service and the box I received was worth £55.

On sign up although it was a 'discounted' price box it made no indication that it would therefore be a different box it was worded to make you think you would get the same boxes as usual subscribers but at a discounted price to try it out for the first 3 months and as other boxes has offered such things previously I thought nothing of it (I think it was around £14 for the first month and then £19 for the following 2 before it finally went up to £35).

As for the content after the £55 claim I spent time adding it up and it came to just over £26 using the highest prices I could find - (many could be brought cheaper in larger quantities).

I haven't heard back from them since I told them I had worked the price out myself and it less than 1/2 what they were claiming.

I wouldn't use them again and I do wonder if Luxbox have taken over Boxdelux rather than the other way.

I once queried a giftbox over their prices (a few years ago now) and was told, that despite the items being available to buy for cheaper, they base their prices on the RRP's of the products so maybe Boxdelux based the price on the products RRP's and that is where the £55 came from?

Thanks for the feedback though. Part of me is interested so I may try a cheaper giftbox for myself and make a decision for my sister's present based on that.

I've just read the shortlist of products for the December You Beauty box and have absolutely no idea how I'm meant to choose just 2...
  • Hi there,

Where did you find the December shortlist please? I can't see it.

    Thank you :D

Will the Latest In Beauty advent calendar (or Body Shop etc) be available at a reduced price in December, does anyone know? Really want one, but can't justify the cost.

I'd hold out if I was you wdah as there really is nothing more annoying than paying full price for something that is later reduced,

I bought one last year when they were reduced and have kept it until this year, so I now have it to enjoy. Plus I've forgotten what is in it, so will have even more fun with it

Plus each box will include a Jimmy Choo FLASH 2ml vial spray and a Green &
Black's Milk Chocolate Raisin and Hazelnut 15g bar.
    *shades may vary

I'm (hopefully)! picking the Dr Nick Lowe eye serum, and the Awapuhi Wild Ginger Duo. I would have gone for the lipstick if I knew what colour it was going to be.
New forum. New sig. Yes I still need to lose 2 stone!
  • I fancy the eye serum too, that and the lanolips ointment. I too fancied the lipstick but changed my mind because I assumed it was the colour that was shown which is like a darkish berry colour, and I already have a few in that colour.

I quite fancy the bath & body oil too. I agree, it's so hard to just choose two! :rotfl:
  • I've just searched twitter, and saw a few tweets about how the advent calendar is now half price, but when I checked, it's still £49.99, so I think they must have done what thy did last year which was send out offers to people who'd purchased one so that they could buy another one half price.

It did go to half price for everyone else, but I can't remember when?

What do people think of the Boots one at £30?
