hey Missli a055.gif I know I am a bad girl for putting temptation in your way and I apologise profusely.

This is just my personal opinion but I only use muslin cloths for convenience. They don't work any better than a standard flannel but they do wash and dry quicker and take up far less space in the bathroom or when travelling. I prefer them to cotton wool as cotton wool is expensive for what it is and I always seem to end up with bits of fluff stuck to my face or hair after using it :o

Muslin cloths are handy and do their job but I blame the whole "ooooh, muslin cloths are the ONLY way to cleanse, it's so chic" thing on Liz Earle. In a superb marketing plan, she manage to make her Cleanse & Polish sound like something brand new and incredible. Fair play to her, it worked and had beauty editors swooning over the stuff.

I won some and was expecting an almost orgasmic experience (watching too much QVC again with their gushing presenters) but I was really underwhelmed. It was just a cleanser/make up remover. I used the entire bottle waiting for the magic to happen and it never did. I put it down to the fact that I always wash my face afterwards to get rid of cleanser residue.

Hope you like your other REN products though Missli. I've only tried full sizes of a couple of products and all the rest have been samples but I've liked most of them. Looking forward to trying the frankincense night cream the most.

WeeGreenDragon, I hope you get on well with the cleansing milk - have you tried oat milk water for soothing your skin?

I don't like the LE cleanser either, but found muslin cloths more gentle on the face, than a standard face cloth.
  • Funny for such a rave product a few of us don't rate it much. Agree about muslin cloths but I have to watch I don't scour or scrub too hard - tomato is not a good look!

Just to give you a heads up in case you've not seen it yet - Latest in Beauty Facebook page advising they're releasing July Editor's Pick box next week - day tbc.

Never tried oat milk water ... are there particular brands or is this a home remedy (sorry to sound so clueless)?

WeeGreenDragon - you're not clueless at all, I didn't explain myself so it's my fault completely.

Oat milk water is just porridge oats mixed with water and then strained. Oats contain something which soothes skin, which is why a lot of eczema treatments contain oat extract as well as brands like Aveeno and Klorane.

I don't know how well it works on rosacea but I thought I'd mention it because it's cheap!

If you want an oat bath, put oats in the foot part of an old pair of tights (or a muslin cloth!) and then hangs them under the hot tap when filling the bath. The water will turn cloudy. Once you've run the bath, let the bag of oats sit in the water with you. That's it!

For your face, just put the bag in a bowl of warm water and then use the "milky" water to dab onto your face with cotton wool.

I know some people advise putting honey and milk into the mixture to help lock in moisture but it might be a bit sticky. Personally, if I see oats, honey and milk together I think.....breakfast! :rotfl:

Thank you for posting the REN offer purplebutterfly :) I really like their Global Calm moisturiser so it will be nice to try more things. Did everyone get a confirmation email when they placed an order? I haven't had one yet.

I had a confirmation email straightaway, after my thanks for creating a REN account one. Have you checked your spam folder? Mine wasn't in there, but just a thought.

Loving the sound of the Latest in beauty box. I've just had a peek at the facebook page, where they mention brands, and sizes! I've not bought one before, but can be swayed. :D
New forum. New sig. Yes I still need to lose 2 stone!

For those not on FB, the Latest In Beauty box will feature Balance Me, Melvita, Batiste, Mavala, Weleda and Love Your Skin and costs £14.95

I might well be tempted, depending on the sizes of the products. I've never heard of "Love Your Skin" though

gentleorange, I got an email confirming the creation of a new account, closely followed by an order confirmation. As long as it shows in your order history in your account, you should be okay hun

:rotfl: I was born in 1974 so makes me feel r-e-a-l-l-y old!

I got all 4 Balance Me bits from Glamour - caved today and bought Red magazine for the REN bits - also saw the post on the FB group so ordered cloths too.
Might put my Balance Me wash up for swaps as preferring cleansing milks/creams at the moment due to my redness.
Got a REN Hydra-Calm Cleansing Milk from eBay for just over £8 but determined not to open it until I've used up the remainder of the wash I've left (why does the last 1/3 of the bottle last the longest?).

OMG I was born in 54:eek::eek::eek::eek:

The LE cleanser is my holy grail cleanser but that's only because it's one of the few that doesn't send my skin off on one. My skin reacts to anything containing alcohol in any concentrations and the ones that turn from an oil or gel to milk. gel ones also tend to give me spots no matter the ingredients. I don't get why it's raved about though, it's nothing innovative!

I got the REN offer too! Thanks for posting it!i wonder if there's someone sat in the packing room thinking why the hell are all these women buying cloths?!
