Congratulations Rose, I'm sure she's absolutely gorgeous and what a pretty name.
  • Have posted this on the Grabbit thread but just in case there are any Weleda fans here - they're offering a "Lucky Dip" for £15 for 4 products which should come to £50.

I've still got most of the Weleda products left unopened from the last goodie bag offer  You just reminded me! :o

Also, JudyJetson gave some good advice earlier re: Barefoot Botanicals. Their SOS face wash is wonderful on really sore skin, especially if the skin is broken and stinging.

They currently have an offer of free p&p on the SOS 25ml trial size moisturizing cream (free p&p also includes any other items in basket). It is £5.95 inc p&p for 25ml HERE OR it is £8.95 inc p&p for 50ml on Naturisimo HERE

I can recommend Green People moisturisers because they are great value and really good. I swear by their aftersun with mint because I suffer from terrible skin itching and really painful skin on my body at times and this cools it and soothes it amazingly well.

It also works as an aftersun :rotfl:

The Vita Min Fix moisturiser is really rich and lush but they do have specialist ones for rosacea and sensitive skin that are exceptionally gentle.

First of all, congratulations to Mr & Mrs Rose and hello to Baby Ella! :-)

Final instalment of the Men's Glossybox Saga. I think this should prove interesting reading...

In case you didn't read my post last week, basically the current Men's Glossybox (from hereon known as Lousybox) was supernaff. This is the conclusion of a conversation that started earlier in the week.

GLOSSYBOX TELL ME I NEED TO PAY TO RETURN LOUSYBOX AND TRY TO FOB ME OF WITH REASONS THAT DON'T MAKE SENSE FOR CHARGING A PREMIUM FOR A TERRIBLE SERVICE

    Thank you for contacting GLOSSYBOX.

We are sorry to hear that you did not enjoy the box we sent you, we have passed on your comments to the brands team for their consideration when planning future boxes.

We can appreciate that you may find it disappointing that the total amount of the products we sent do not add up to £15 however we must stress that we do not charge customers for products, we charge customers for the service we provide.

    If you do not wish to keep your box please send it, unused, to;
    GLOSSYBOX
    13a North Audley Street
    London
    W1K 6ZA

Please note, as per our Terms and Conditions, GLOSSYBOX do not reimburse additional P+P charges for returns.

We charge our GLOSSYBOX for Men subscribers £5 more as our GLOSSYBOX beauty as we send 7 products instead of 5 once every 3 months.

Thank you for taking the time to email us with your feedback.
    Kind regards,
    Kayleigh

WHILST THIS RESPONSE BOTH AMUSED AND BEMUSED ME, I'D LOST PATIENCE BY THIS TIME AND CUT TO THE CHASE:

    Thank you for your response.

I would still like to know two things:

    1. Why are the samples from this summer's Men's box not deluxe sized as stated on your own website?
    2. If you are charging purely for the service, not the product, why is the increased charge (compared to ladies' boxes) based on the fact that there are more products? I don't understand the logic.

I'd like to return the box as the service you have provided is not as described (screengrab attached). Glossybox need to cover the return postage (as well as full cost and original postage fees) according to my statutory rights. Please can you confirm this.

    With thanks

GLOSSYBOX DO NOT ADMIT THEY'RE WRONG, BUT GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK AND LET ME KEEP THE BOX

    Thank you for your reply.

We sent a variety of different sized samples, sometimes they are sachets, sometimes they are trial sized and if we are lucky we can sometimes send out full sized products to sample. We apologise for the confusion caused by our website, we have advised the web team of your feedback.

We charge more for a GLOSSYBOX for Men subscription as there is more work involved with sourcing products for men, this coupled with more products we decided to charge £5 more than our GLOSSYBOX Beauty subscription service.

As a gesture of goodwill we have issued you a refund for your box that you are unhappy with, please do not return the box to us. Please allow 2 - 3 days for this to reach your account.
If we can help you further please let us know.

    Kind regards,
    Kayleigh

MY FINAL RESPONSE (where I stop short of saying that their pricing structure indicates that they must think men are more stupid than women)

    Thank you.

I think it would be advisable to change your website so that is does not state that the samples are deluxe-sized.

    *************************************
So their reasoning/justification is up the creek which still makes me laugh, but I've posted this for any other disatisfied customers. Pin them down to answering your questions, stand up for your rights. You can get your money back (they processed the refund immediately for the full amount inc postage) and they will let you keep your LousyBox too.

Sorry for the length of that post! I was going to respond and ask them how it can be more work to curate the men's box when they have worked with a single supplier for this one (Joshua & Nivens)? But to be frank, I can't really be bothered :-P

I received my Amarya box this morning. A pleasant surprise as my post has been uncharacteristically late this past month. It felt very light, but am very pleased with the contents (in White):

Inika Mineral Eyeshadow (Peach Fetish) - This is full-sized (worth £11.75), and is a good suit-all colour, highly pigmented, and long-lasting. Much more flattering than some of the Gold's I use. I love Inika eyeshadows, and have another one in Gun-metal which I adore from a magazine giveaway.

Morrocan Rose Otto Body Cream (50ml, worth approx £6.13) - I have loads of body-lotions so do not usually get excited about them, but is a necessary everyday item for me. This won an award last year, and looks full of good things, so look forward to trying. My current favourites are Lavera, and a Burts Bees one, but I can be swayed!

REN Photoactive Sun Veil (3ml) - Not all my moisturisers have SPF, and this can be applied throughout the day. A great little handbag size.

Antipodes, Rejoice Light Facial Day Cream (5ml) - I look forward to trying, as boosts collagen levels, and rejuvenates skin.

I love the naturalness of Amarya's products, so is my must-have box, and a site I will always buy from.
New forum. New sig. Yes I still need to lose 2 stone!

Hopefully my Amarya box will be waiting for me at work, so I'm resisting the temptation to peek at the spoilers.
