You have not really gone over budget - you took advantage of special circumstances to save money - as long as what you bought will be used and will not spoil then all you have really done is spend next months money early! Average it out over the two months and I bet that you have done really well.
Look in Martin's book if you don't believe me.
I feel out of control because bought one daughter two pairs of shoes and a skirt and another daughter a pair of jeans and a skirt - but they were needed and will be used and were not an impulse so the real problem is the timing.
I did however save £34 on the shoes - £40 on both skirts and £15 on jeans so that is £89 in virtual savings.
Sometimes you need to spend some money to save a lot more and that is still moneysaving.:):):)"This site is addictive!"

Whenever I buy things for the freezer I always remove them from packaging where at all possible. Afterall it is the food inside that I want freezing not the plastic and the cardboard. I only have a fridge / freezer combo, and so space is usually at a premium. Unless of course I'm having a clear out (which I am doing at the moment) and I end up with more room that I can shake a stick at.Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move

Yup, when you look at the wider picture I probably will come well in budget when it's averaged out. I think I have enough tins of tuna and packs of basmati rice to last several months :rotfl:
I had a similar thing a couple of weeks ago as my son needed some new clothes for summer, so rather than buy it in dribs and drabs I ordered a whole bunch of t-shirts, shorts, a hoodie and pants from a discount sports store and saved a fortune. I think the RRP would have been around £150 and they only cost me £60, and most of it was Nike stuff, so I was well-chuffed ... and so was he"An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"

That's what I've started doing too, and splitting larger packs down to 2 items/servings and it's freed up a fair bit of room. Those large plastic boxes of mince take up so much room but if you take the mince out you can squeeze it in anywhere
My other problem is that I also need to store frozen rodents for my snakes and while ickle mice don't take up much room, huge stonking rats do LOL! I really need a separate freezer for them but I just don't have room for one here, and the small counter-top sized ones are so damned expensive compared to large freezers"An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"
