Hi thanks for all your help but just see whether this is right

    start at 4354.5
    ends at 4354.6

am I suppose to times the 0.1 units by 10 (this is the usage i used in 6 minutes)

which would leave 1 unit converted into khw would be 32 kwh

have I done it the right way to how happymj has asked?
It's close enough...The 30 in the model name means 30kW output and as they are about 90% efficient then 32kW used in an hour would be Ok. It's also a modern condensing combi boiler so is very unlikely to have used 803kWh in a day so I'm guessing the intial meter reading was not correct. Do you have any older meter readings than last year?

You've used 0.1 units in 6 minutes, which equals 1 unit in 60 minutes. So yes, 32kWh.

Been quietly following this thread with the same shock and horror as everybody else.
I think we need to know a bit more about this 2 Bed house -
    Terraced/Semi/Detatched/How well insulated/Area of location ?

If it's a well insulated Terrace house in the south, the numbers point to a case of the classic Metric v Imperial meter billing mix-up, but lovey 69 seems to know what's what, and is positive it's an Imperial meter - Maybe a photo of the meter?

HappyMJ here are the meter readings from npower the supplier before

I have checked the last npower bill
    23/06/10 - 2309
    30/03/11 - 3232

923 units in total been used over roughly a 9 month period, which is 29,680 kwh which is a lot, or is it? This is why I need some advice.

It is defo an imperial meter with ft3 on the front, I live in a semi detached house, single brick no cavity wall, loft insulation not saying its the best but I have only live here for nearly two years had it all re-boarded and replastered, so really I cannot see to much hot air getting out, I can send a photo if you do wish that should not be a problem. OK lovey69 - You can only improve insulation to a certain level in any given house, but loft insulation is cheap and effective with a very short pay-back time.

That said, your gas consumption is so way off the norm., that it's probably worth biting the bullet and paying for that meter exchange

This is not a trick question but it's important to state whether these are actual or estimated.

Ignoring the reported usage up to 13/04/11, you have only used 13,317kWh between 14/04/11 and 11/03/12. No matter how you extrapolate that to annual usage, you'll get a much smaller annual figure than previously considered.
The usage in the past does look very high, but going forward may not be so bad, so maybe it is an historical problem to look at, rather than a current one.

The days that have n/a have been averaged for the days between 31/03/11 - 13/04/11 if this makes sense, that is why it is so high in those 2wks so they have just for some reason just put them all on for those 2 wks

Apologies if you've already given this, but do you have actual readings for 13/4/11 and a recent one (preferably today)?
It doesn't make sense if they have dumped kWh from the n/a periods into the 31/3 to 13/4 figures, but might go some way towards explaining the high figures.
From actual readings, you can calculate actual kWh usage and perhaps see more clearly where things stand.
