Ignorant train passengers

I carry a folding bike, the insurance states it can't be left unattended or it isn't insured. So I always sit in the wider entrance to the carriage so it can be next time and not block the path.
So many people walk into it.
I watch people avoid cases, through shark infested water, avoid the falling swords and they still walk into my bike0 -
I always buy 2 tickets if I'm going on a long journey, always get a cheeky so and so who thinks I should shift my bag for them, I've started to put my extra ticket on the seat so they'll sod off, hehe.... I don't want my extra seat ages away!0

I've previously seen people hogging seats on crowded trains along the south coast. On one occasion, there was one guy effectively blocking in 4 seats. Polite request for him to move slightly was declined, so I proceeded to clamber over the top. Then back off again at the next stop.
One of the other things that annoys me are people on the platforms. When I go to board, I always stand well to the side of the doors. Getting off, I find people just stand directly in front of them. Now, I leave the train at a relatively quiet station, just after rush hour. There's no real need to be that close. It annoys me to the extent now that I just barge through the crowd. Had a few people have a go about it, which invites me to lecture them on how they could improve the situation.0 -
Had a good one this morning...train rammed to the gills, idiot girl opposite me PAINTING HER NAILS !
7.30 in the morning, train almost too full to breathe, and she has half-gassed us all with solvents. Even better it was one of those windowless carriages where the air-con doesn't work...

However..... when I take a seat, only to find a young man sitting with his legs widely splayed out to the point where he is interfering with the leg room of others for his own 'comfort', I will always politely ask them to move their legs.
I hate this too and I do ask nicely if they could move up a bit, thank you. If they don't I then ask them have they been to the doctor about the problem with their balls that stops them sitting normally, my ex once had an attack of something called orchitis that made his balls swell up like footballs, is that their problem as well, it's very painful isn't it...at which point they either run away or take the hint!Cash not ash from January 2nd 2011: £2565.:j
OU student: A103 , A215 , A316 all done. Currently A230 all leading to an English Literature degree.
Any advice given is as an individual, not as a representative of my firm.0 -
I don't mind people sitting next to me, but can they sit on their own chair and not try to trap the skin of my leg under their backside and elbow me. I always travel on trains with an egg sandwich in a bag now, it's amazing how fast people will move over when I pop that out in front of me.0

On the subject of splayed out legs, I also hate it when a man sitting opposite or next to me crosses his legs above the knee, with his foot sticking out, thus thrusting the sole of his shoe right into my space and almost touching my clothes.
Also on face-to-face seats when the person opposite has plonked their feet well forward, into your bit of foot space, and refuses to pull them back to allow you to put your feet in front of you, rather than cramped to one side. That's just rude and ignorant. Tempting to put my feet down on top of theirs - I will next time!I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe

I totally hate train travel because of this . There has been many ocassions when people were sat in my (reserved) seat and refused to move , its just shocking!
The final straw was one recent journey to London , when me and OH had the disabled space and the seat in front of it reserved (OH is full time wheelchair user) . We were on the platform waiting for someone to come with a ramp when this young lady with a pram literally barges past us, gets onto the train, drags the pram behind her and goes and comfortably sets up in the disabled space. Now, I fully understand prams might sometime use this space and I do not resent this but we were obviously waiting for the space ( only disabled seat on this particular train) !
Once we were on the train we tried rather unsuccessfully to convince this lady we reserved the seats ( there was nothing to indicate this although we DID reserve them) and in the end she put a headset on and turned the music up. I mean, honestly ! Even if we haven`t reserved, OH is disabled and its a disabled space !
When asking the conductor what could we do about this situation, he was embarrassed but conceded he can`t ask ' a young lass with a little one, all on her own' to leave the seat and hinted at how inappropriate our request was.
We had to travel in the hallway bit in the end, among a mixture of cases and with everyone walking into OH. He now refuses to subject himself to public transport, which limits our lives tremendously, and I wish people would realise what impact their actions have and how some things, although free, can cost others so much.0 -

That is appalling and I would have been putting in a strongly worded complaint about his conduct.
My pet peeve is people who sit with their feet up on the seats opposite them. I don't want to sit where you filthy shoes have been thank you very much!Wedding 5th September 20150
