I get paid monthly and wish I got paid weekly! it is 3 weeks until pay day and I feel poor already!
Try survey or review sites for some extra cash, it builds up over time but isn't a quick fix. Well done for beating your target

Thanks, i already do valued opinions and ipsos, adds up and some months i'm able to use the vouchers instead of cash for the nappies:)
Final bidder paid today so another £4.20 for the OP pot.
Sorted the envelopes out last night for pay day on Thursday, so that's a good job done. I have split them into 2 groups, monthly and yearly, this way if there is anything in the monthly ones at next pay day i can decide whether to leave it there or move it to the OP pot.
Monthly
Birthdays
Hair
Petrol
Entertainment
Clothes
Nappies
Food
Yearly
Holiday
Car Ins
Car Maintenance
TV License
Car Tax
Optician
Dentist
Christmas
This way i figure that if at any point i happen to not spend as much during the month as what is in the envelope then i can either roll it over, or transfer it to the OP pot.

£300 a whole £300!
extra in my wages!
called payroll, apparently not a mistake, but in fact due to my accruing holiday hours whilst on mat leave last year and now when i take holiday i get more money than if i was actually working!
Does this sound weird to anyone else?
Payroll said it's ok for me to spend it!
So, night out planned at the theatre, meal (comic for the hubby) and the remainder into the OP pot:)

Now my wages have gone in to the account there is an 'odd' of £2.72 so i'm moving it to the OP pot to even things up. Also done the money moving to qualify for my cashback on the Santander account so that's good. Only thing i can't do is the money moves for the halifax account as they still haven't sent me any details.
Off on a course at work today so that should make a change from the till:) And finally getting my petrol money form work, i'm still undecided whether to use it for petrol for the month instead of drawing out the usual £20, or whether to draw out the usual and use the £18 expenses refund as an extra OP. I guess we can afford to do that so i think i might:)
So £45.93 in the pot + 2.72 + 18.00 = 66.65

I have "online" envelopes in my spreadsheet for the annual spends and that works really well. I just seem to overspend on my monthly allocations (groceries and petrol) but I'm getting better.
GREAT news about the wages!!!!0 -
Yep, i even double checked today with one of the store trainers who knows pretty much everything and she says it's definately right and to spend it!
Looking at the budgets and not including the £300 i think we will end up with about £9 once everything is paid out. Waiting for the rest of the DD to go for this month, so by about the 13th everything will be gone out of both accounts then i'll transfer the money remaining in santander back into the co-op as i only use it to get the CB on DD. Also need to figure out the Halifax thing, they have written today to say there was an issue with hubby's account opening and that he has to go into branch which i know he won't do so that's a £5 lost out on but hey ho, the joint ac is now set up just waiting for the details to come through the post:)
Other things are some books which need to go on ebay might do that tonight.0 -
Checked the bank, and have decided to use the £18 travel expenses from work to pay for the petrol this month instead of drawing out £20 on the CA, also £5 roadkill is going in towards the tv license, so updated total for OP pot is actually £48.65, which is a little bit short on the target. But i'm happier that we won't go overdrawn before the cheque from petplan comes. But once it's banked we should end the month in credit, to then top up the OP:)0

I'm such a dufus! Totally forgot about music magpie, just checked and they rejected 2 of my CD's, not bad considering the condition of some of the ones i sent:) So a total of £29.91 coming from them:) night all x0

Morning all, well little one is in bed and i'm catching up with 'The Choir' love it:)
Also got a text from petplan so the money is on the way from them too, so i'm hoping that later in the month i'll be able to top up the OP pot a little bet more. I think i'm going to try and get to the bank tomorrow to get the £48.65 paid off, which means the OP pot will be empty again:( but the mortgage willl eb less:)
Funny isn't it how when it's in a little separate pot it's easy to focus on it, when it goes into the mortgage account i somehow lose focus, but i'm aware that the sooner it goes into the mortgage account the quicker the interest goes down and the quicker we pay it off. Off to check in with ebay and see if any of my books have sold.
Just double checked the accounts and if we stick to budget we should have £49.59 in the CA once everything is paid:) Think i might use this towards the CC payment though rather than an OP.0
