    Hi all,
Well I took my dolls to their first craft fayre today and didn't sell one,
did sell lots of other things though and made 3107 to pay off bills, it was a weird one cos although it was billed as a craft fayre it was more of a posh car boot, I did get 2 lovely whistles tops and some ecco shoes all for £14.00,
tips on displaying things would be welcome x

Aw sorry to hear you didn't sell one of your dolls vintage - it does sound like it wasn't quite the right setting - though if you sold £107 worth of craft things its hard to say! Also i have found that what sells at one fayre can often be a non seller at another so try not to get disheartened just because of one sale!

Personally i think you should really give facebook a go - its a really good way to get some feedback from people without having to pay anything out up front. You can also end up selling or getting orders on there too!

Displaying things is something i find quite difficult as well tbh - i have had a packed table and what i would call a posh table :rotfl:, i have made stands, bought jewellery displays, hung things up and lain them flat. Also unless you take your own tables it will be different everytime!! Do you have a lot of different sizes of things as well? The thing i find difficult is the fact the displays have to be mobile - its not easy is it? :rotfl:

    20 x Felt Flower Brooches
6 x Notelets Sets (4 in each pack but each set counts as 1)

OK so 70 items made yesterday means that my to do list now looks like this

Ah, I would love to start this challenge. I've been reading through the thread on my dinner hour at work and only got up to page 3 but will read the rest when I get home.

Thing is, I can never find the motivation as I work 5 days a week and am usually booked up over the weekend. I usually set myself resolutions every month to aim for (not just craft wise, in general) and one of them was begin a patchwork quilt and I'm still yet to start! :(:(

I suppose I may have the motivation when I read the rest of everyone's replies when I get home and looking at the pictures I saw they are absolutely lovely!

I don't know really.... maybe hearts? I also thought, randomly, a big blue and white anchor. I dont know why!

Definitely an anchor - I don't know why either but I love them! :D

Just catching up on the thread, you're all doing so well :T

After a bit of practise I have finally mastered felt balls. The room was littered with some frightening first attempts  I should have done enough for a couple of chalk boards by the weekend. I hope! :o

It is hard to motivate yourself when working full time - home, dinner and you just want to do nothing if possible after that.......that was me anyway when i was working :p and i have no kids to squeeze into the day as well - how mums do it is beyond me!

Anyway, maybe the quilt is too big a project for you to start with and putting you off? Have you done quilting before? I found it hard to start when i didn't know what i was doing!

Hope you do join us - the more the merrier and all that - all crafters together :D

No, I've never done quilting before but I did a fashion course at college a few years back which obviously involved sewing etc and used to be extremely fond of cross stitching I think that is as far as my crafting experience goes.

I suppose I like to set myself big aims at first rather than the smaller ones and really should start off a bit smaller. I'm thinking about customising clothes for the time-being and then building up my experience as I go along. I may just stay at the sidelines for now and see what other wonderful ideas everyone has come up with and build up the motivation/courage to start something myself!
