There are some courses here based in Whitefield on Bury New Rd. They look quite good and Slatterys does have a great reputation.
Maybe someone will have a look for you and tell you if the prices are the usual for this type of thing.

I decorate cakes
its great and I love it very much
start with the sugarcraft guild as others have mentioned, its a very fine skill to decorate cakes and you'll quickly work out if you want to carry on
your local college will also offer city and guilds courses in decorating but its just not something you can cram into a one week course

Totally agree. Mine was 2 years, one full day a week for decorating side and 1/2 day a week for art & design side. Now that part I never got to "real" grips with until nearing the very end and all of a sudden the penny dropped. Surprising how you can look at something now and see a completely different pattern from it:D .0 -

I started in 2005 on the ABC Cake Dec course at college, currently on my second year
I've hinted to my partner for the Slatterys chocolate cake course for my birthday (yum yum) but ofcourse its for the benefit of my business.
The ABC courses cost around £200 for a year long evening course. City College Manchester offer the course.... http://www.ccm.ac.uk/courses/ccm_gateway_detail.asp?NavID=368&scode=HC08&cor=&alt=on&CDTKey=3085
Bolton community college also have allot of other cake courses... http://www.bolton-community-college.ac.uk/courses/catering.php
