Totally agree with you RE ip addresses and the such - but then you would have the argument that their sister / father / next doors dog used their computer to enter too

I have no idea how I'm doing! I seen the clue and thought Hawaii - seen someone suggest Honolulu on here and went from there. I still think it would be nearing impossible to get it spot on every single time. Not sure if you were around last year but they did a similar one to this for something else (can't remember what it was for). At least with that one we had coloured markers (green = far away, orange = closer, red = hot!) so that made it a little easier to play.

We'll see at the end. I was in the right area for the other one (Sicily)

I dropped my first one on Kuhio Beach park, Waikiki Beach and i was close but needed to go North East. I dropped the next one right on a point that juts out near the Outrigger Luana Waikiki, I was told I needed to go West. I watched the video for another go and dropped that one in the sea off the same point. Again I was told that I was close but needed to go West. So for me, it is somewhere in the sea off Waikiki Beach

Well as you prolly read yesterday most of the mse'ers were all aiming for honolulu in the kuhio beach area, and as for pin placement, i think the common census is that they (dell) will hide the article in the place that their random generator picks.

So if it picked hawaii then dell put it where they want and give a clue to give you an idea..
I think thats why theres now a few comms that said including me 'if i place it any further west im in the sea..
Some one else had a good idea, they tried to think 'how would american dudes think?' so he put one in 'starbucks' thinking thats a good surfer friendly place so they might be thinking there.

Ive enjoyed it though and hope i get close maybe close enough to win - but i doubt it!
But i cant wait for it to finish so they show us the exact locations (if they will)

(and IP address would mean only 1 per in that household could enter, like now me and my partner enter and my folks, but if i were 1 per ip then only me and say dad would be able to enter as obv i live with partner not m&d)
I just think that way for online comps there could be no way of cheating - because the so -called ip address changers - dont actually work, they are easy to spot.
That way more people would win prizes, it would a fairer all round, but then again do some companies care? controversy also breeds media coverage, meaning more people hear about the company!

I initially thought Alcatraz but as I haven't been following this comp till now have no ideas, not had any attempts so far & reading your posts it seems that Hawaii is the place to be looking. I'll go & see if I can attempt to figure out how to do this comp now & come back if I have any more info to help, which I probably won't knowing me as I'm useless

I think it's going to be here, I clicked on that road & it said I'm in the right area go south east but can't tell you where it was closest too as the map kept disappearing & I was left with a blue screen, I told you I was useless

looks like there's much confusion about this. I think the hint 'Many have been there, but only a few have dared to escape' is for the next laptop and is a different comp to the grass skirts one, but apparently this comp should only start at 4pm UK time.

I wouldn't try until 4pm, even if the map does load. These hints seem a bit easy, surely everyone is going to go for the same place, making a giant map a bit redundant?

I've just had a guess, and thought it was Alcatraz and got, "you're thousands of miles away, try South West, " But I didn't realise about the 4pm timing so not sure what to think.

Im getting it disillusioned by this game, if it is alcatraz
then its down to placement, i think they should go more cryptic and make things alot less obvious..

Or better still do away with the orange box altogether, you know place your flags then thats it?

Ah well if i think of anything i'll pop on later.

Right I've just put one on top of the Alcatraz bookstore and got ' you're almost touching try look west' so next one put on top of the corner of a wall and got the same but try looking east.

so looks like it is Alcatraz.
