Thanks muslimahi for the tip about moving the orange box.

I tried Diamond Head Crater Park and it said i was within touching distance try north west.

I then tried Kapiolani Park and again it said I was within touching distance try north west.

Anyone have a link to the rules of this please? Have a feeling it's one per person - if so, someone on this thread is cheating! Thanks in advance :)

Here you go, copied the rules:
    XPS marks the spot
    OFFICIAL RULES
    NO PURCHASE NECESSARY.

    1. Eligibility: XPS marks the spot (the “Contest”) is open only to residents of the United Kingdom who are at least eighteen (18) years old at the time of entry. Employees of Dell Corporation Limited, Dell Inc. or its subsidiaries, TBG Digital, and their parent and affiliate companies, as well as the immediate family (spouse, parents, siblings and children) and household members of each such employee, are not eligible. Participation constitutes entrant’s full and unconditional agreement to these Official Rules and Organizer’s and Administrator’s decisions, which are final and binding in all matters related to the Contest. Winning a prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth herein.
    2. Organizer: Dell Corporation Limited, Dell House, The Boulevard, Cain Road, Bracknell Berks RG12 1LF. Administrator: TBG Digital – 100 Highgate Studios – 53-79 Highgate Road – London NW5 1TL - UK
    3. Timing: The Contest begins on 16 March 2012 at 4:00 p.m. GMT and ends on 30 March 2012 at 4:00 p.m. GMT(the "Entry Period").
    4. How to Enter: To enter the Contest, Entrants must visit the XPS marks the spot application on http://www.facebook.com/dellHomeUK?ref=ts and “Like” the page. Entrants will then have to guess where the XPS13 Ultrabook is hidden on the map of the world. [The location of the hidden XPS13 will be chosen at random]. Each guess will give entrants a clue on the direction they need to go to find the hidden Ultrabook. Each entrant gets two (2) guesses upfront, two (2) extra guesses for inviting friends to play the game and one (1) extra guess for watching an informative video about the XPS 13 Ultrabook. There will be seven (7) rounds of the game, each round will have last forty eight (48) hours during which the game can be played. At the end of each 48 hour period, the entrant who is the closest to the location of the hidden XPS13 Ultrabook will be the winner of that round. There will be seven (7) rounds of the game during the entry period: participants will need to register to play for each round separately and an XPS13 Ultrabook will be hidden at a different random location for each round; only one (1) prize will be awarded per winner per round. The Contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed, or administered by, or associated with Facebook. Facebook is completely released of all liability by each entrant in this Contest. Any questions, comments or complaints regarding the Contest must be directed to the Organizer and/or Administrator and not to Facebook. Use of any automated system to participate is prohibited and will result in disqualification. In the event of a dispute as to any registration, the authorized account holder of the email address used to register will be deemed to be the registrant or player. The “authorized account holder” is the natural person assigned an email address by an Internet access provider, online service provider or other organization responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted address. The potential winner may be required to show proof of being the authorized account holder.
    5. Selection of XPS marks the spot Game Winners: Organizer’s and/or Administrator’s decisions as to the administration and operation of the Contest and the selection of the potential winners are final and binding in all matters related to the Contest. On 31.03.12 Organizer and/or Administrator will determine which entrant has chosen the location closest to the hidden XPS13 and therefore which entrant is the potential winner. In the event of a tie as regards who is closest to the hidden XPS13, Organizer and/or Administrator will select the entrant who was first to have chosen the location. The potential winners will be notified by email. The email address used to notify the winner will be the one featured on entrant´s Facebook profile. Each entrant is responsible for ensuring that the email address available on their Facebook profile is correct and for checking their email account regularly. This email address will be used for the sole purpose of notifying the winner.
    6. Prize: One (1) Dell™ XPS13™ Ultrabook of an estimated value of £949 will be awarded per round to the entrant that made the closest guess to where the XPS13 is hidden. There are 7 prizes in total for this Contest of an overall estimated value of £6643. Organizer reserves the right to substitute a prize for one of equal or greater value if the designated prize should become unavailable for any reason. There is no cash alternative to the prize and the prize is not transferable. Limit: One (1) prize per person.
    8. Publicity: Participation in the Contest constitutes winner’s consent to Organizer’s and its agents’ use of winner’s name, likeness, photograph, voice, and opinions for promotional purposes in any media, worldwide, without further payment or consideration for a period of 5 years following the end of the entry period.
    9. General Conditions: Organizer reserves the right to cancel, suspend and/or modify the Contest, or any part of it, if any fraud, technical failures or any other factor beyond Organizer’s reasonable control impairs the integrity or proper functioning of the Contest, as determined by Organizer in its sole discretion. Organizer reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Contest or to be acting in violation of these Official Rules or any other Promotion or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. Any attempt by any person to deliberately undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest may be a violation of criminal and civil law, and, should such an attempt be made, Organizer reserves the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law. Organizer’s failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision.
    10. Limitations of Liability: Organizer, Dell Inc. and its subsidiaries, Administrator and their agents are not responsible for: (1) any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by entrants, printing errors or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Contest; (2) technical failures of any kind, including, but not limited to malfunctions, interruptions, or disconnections in phone lines or network hardware or software; (3) unauthorized human intervention in any part of the entry process or the Contest; (4) technical or human error which may occur in the administration of the Contest or the processing of entries; or (5) late, lost, undeliverable, damaged or stolen mail. If for any reason an entrant's entry is confirmed to have been erroneously deleted, lost, or otherwise destroyed or corrupted, entrant’s sole remedy is another entry in the Contest, provided that the Entry Period has not ended. If the Contest is canceled, suspended or modified, Organizer, in its sole discretion, may elect to hold a random drawing from among all eligible entries received up to the date of discontinuance for any or all of the prizes offered herein. No more than the stated number of prizes will be awarded.
    11. Disputes: Except where prohibited, entrant agrees that any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of, or connected with, the Contest or any prize awarded shall be resolved individually and exclusively by the English Courts. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, entrant’s rights and obligations, or the rights and obligations of the Organizer in connection with the Contest, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of England and Wales, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules.
    12. Entrant's Personal Information: The information you provide will only be used for the administration of this Contest and in accordance with the Organizer’s and Administrator’s privacy policy. Dell’s Privacy Policy can be consulted at: http://www1.euro.dell.com/content/topics/topic.aspx/emea/topics/footer/privacy?c=uk&l=en&s=gen&~lt=popup/ Any personal data collected by the Organizer in connection with the Contest will be saved, processed and used for the sole execution and completion of the Contest. Entrants provide their information to the Organizer and/or Administrator, and not to Facebook.
    13. Official Rules: By entering the “X Marks the Spot” Contest, entrant acknowledges and accepts the entirety of these Official Rules without reserves. For a copy of these Official Rules, send a hand-printed, self-addressed, stamped envelope to ”XPS marks the spot”, CSMB Marketing, Dell Corporation Limited, Dell House, The Boulevard, Cain Road, Bracknell Berks RG12 1LF.

Don't think it says anything about one per person? But by the very fact you have to have a facebook account to enter means it's restricted to one entry doesn't it :) Hmm I guess it's possible to cheat the system and have more than one FB account, but I believe that's getting harder as they have stricter veryfication methods to ensure real people - plus it'd be a bit sad to make up lots of different personalities lol

    Good luck all

Cheats will always find a way around things - it seems this is what this person has done - 4 accounts just to enter this comp. I've asked Dell if one per person is the case - I'll wait for their response.

Thanks elletee & Comping Rich :) xx

I also believe people may be using fake accounts - which is unfair on us all, It would be so easy to make dozens of anon accounts, thats why sites like FB should make sure of every account via phone..
When i got my family to sign FB text them with codes, I think all sites should implement rules like this..

I see so many people on FB have accounts that are clearly made up but apart from reporting them theres not much else we can do and the cheating debate will just trundle on unfortunately..

I personally only have my parents and partner as friends that way there can be no hassle about cheating, and i go through most people FB when entering comps myself to see if i can spot cheaters..

Apart from that so we were spot on about the 'acroplis' we just dont know exactly where??
Oh well i hope they will release a map with all the correct markers on at the end of the comp, it will be nice to compare (and myself and my partner have had a little bet with my parents to see who is closest, lol-so could end up winning twice:rotfl:)

NIce to see lots of nice comments here and everyone helping,
good luck and keep on winning!!

P.S jaibaby - who is the cheat i cant see anything on here that would indicate someone has cheated????
Thats the only thing with the internet its a 'webb' of deceit..

I am keeping it to myself at this moment, I'm not one to go around shouting my mouth off without solid proof. And I never actually said that there was something on this thread - I just said someone :)

Any reason why you spelt it as "webb"? Seems (IMO) it was said sarcastically and missing a ;)

    ^^^ You said it here??
Its weird i do see a couple of people who fb friends dont seem like real people, do what ive started doing unless its clear that peoples friends on fb are family members or real friends (just check others profiles) then report them to fb..
I think its the same on twitter to be honest, as treacle said the other day about some one having 37 accounts..
Theres no way they could get away with it for long, because like me companies can see every location of a pc that visits their pages - (i run it on a couple of sites i use and on FB to see whos been looking at my pages, and it makes interesting viewing, the latest person ive noticed- well thats by the by)

So although i wish EVERY single compatition had 1 ENTRY PER IP ADDRESS entry then the 'cheat episode' will trundle on for years..

You see like i know exactly who has looked at my pages, where in the country they are located- even down to the street and number, and of course if i ran a comp then i would know if that address has been used more than once even if the person who entered for a second time was using a different name.
Then from there basically youve got everything you need to locate who it is, who they live with, births etc etc..Thats how come so many spammers make life misery for people around the 'web'*?
    every day of the week.

So there are ways for the companys to do it, we just need more people making their voice heard on forums like this.
But i suppose soemtimes people just dont want the hassle because its also a dangerous place when people can basically get any info they want within seconds.

But i think then we are more into 'just how much' information should people be able to see, my mum and dad have only joined because i keep badgering them, but to be honest they HATE' it already - lol my dad couldnt even work out how to put photos on!

I personally feel ALL internet companies should protect everybodies personal information, but thats just my opinion..

How you doing on the comp? i did mine yesterday & partner but i think my m&d have given up already!!!
Ah pensioners - no staying power!!
(i can say that cos they dont come on here, lol bless em)
