The other thread was closed, so hopefully this is okay. Please take any arguments etc you may have to PMs or elsewhere, lets keep this one drama free!

New round just started, current clue is "Grass skirts and hula dancers can point you in the right direction". Obviously this seems to be Hawaii, so I put my first marker there, and it told me "Try the other side of the world! Go East"

Blulu made a great post in the other thread about why it's in our best interests to pool guesses:
The thing is though, that if we did work together on this, I'm sure it would increase our chances of winning. Just think how many non-MSE-ers will be trying to work it out alone. Here is how I think we would have the best chance...

Step 1) Do nothing until at least 1 clue is given. Then we discuss that clue.

Step 2) All Google and think to see what we can find - share what we come up with.

Step 3) Each of us sacrifice one, possibly two guesses - not at the same time, preferably staggered - then report back where, and what was said.

That way, we pool the clues and work out the right area as close as possible. That would leave each of us with 3-4 guesses, hopefully, in the right area.

Don't you think that gives us a better chance than just going it alone? It's a very big map to solve with just 5 guesses - but between us, we've got guesses to spare. That's what need, to home down the exact spot. So would you rather have 5 guesses anywhere in the world, or 3-4 guesses in the right area?

Let me know, because if everyone is playing for themselves, then I won't give any more of my clues and thoughts away, as I did with the last area.

Oh, to be more specific, I tried on Honolulu exactly. So we're getting different direction messages? That's not very helpful...

Numpties posted on Dell FB page and said Oahu. Went there just north of Honolulu.
Had to go SE - went just south east of Honolulu and then had go South.
Planted pin at Crater Park and then had to go NE. Dropped again around Derussey Beach Park.

    Good Luck all

Lets Play fair and share!! :j
Thanks to those that post the comps!!

I was actually to the NW of Honolulu not exactly on it as I missed the first rounds so didn't realise just how much I could zoom in. I now know its somewhere inbetween those 2 points though... lol :D

    Well done pechow -
This thread is for this comp only NO stupid comms required!!

So just noticed the clue, it isnt going to be as simple as hawaii - there will be a deeper meaning,
So off out now but got it on laptop so i can research while out, then i'll come back in a bit BEFORE i make any guesses..

My advice is i wouldnt just plonk them on hawaii island tbh..
Still comping, after 2 heart attacks 4th feb & 6th feb, and a stent put in.. 45 years old only:eek:

It might even have been as simple as "put the first marker on Hawaii and the map will tell you the next directions", since it said "point in the right direction", but it's so simple today I somewhat doubt it... off for food now but will post back later with my next few guesses! Hopefully I can get my Mum to join in again today too :)
  • Tried Waikiki Shore Beach services - said you're almost touching - try South East!

Had another go, put it on Waikiki Shell in Kapiolani park, and it said "Try the other side of the world! Try looking east"

Is no one else getting the "try the otherside of the world" part?
